Thumper Nites...as USUAL!!!

For obvious reasons known to my regular readers....(actually, I really wonder how many of those do I have????) Thumper has become more than home! For a moment, even the boys and girls from Zouk and Velvet noticed my absence and of course....I have been reminded to spread the joy and must try to make an effort to my normal happy home ground more often! But this post is about one of those unscheduled nites that turn out to be a real cool killer of a party! As usual...any nite out in Thumper turns out to be a big one! Ed was feeling in a good mood...and of course the girls from Thumper, Yvonne who does a fantastic job of managing the guest as well Ting Li who actually is a very accomplished young film maker cum door bitch joined Patrick and myself in our usual party spirit.... As the night went on, David was in full effect...of course with Britta and Stephanie...and of course there was way more booze around than healthy! Moet...Chivas....good company...what more does a good nite out need? Off we trooped to Living Room...and OUCH...Thanks to Marco, we did more than a few Jagermeisters and Vodkas! I really need a nite out on the town like this like I need a hole in the head!

Of Thumper Nites....and Random Nites in various Corners!

I really must try to organize and plan these nites out on the town better as well as get a more organized way to get my pictures up. Thumper has featured very regularly in my circuit and has become a firm staple of Edwin, Patrick and myself. Of couse some nites end up bigger than others but still we never fail to have a kick ass nite! One of the most prominent and beautiful couples in town...Julian Chee and Sulian Tan....and of course...we were up in Mt Faber at the very successful B-Yond Party! It was also the finale party to Fashion Week and Sulian's Birthday... Happy Birthday Hot Stuff!!!! Nites out on the town.....with all the boys and girls......Nigel, Rahidi, Jumato....Vanessa..... Patrick...Dol...the list of my friends out there goes on and ON!!

OF Triumph Lingerie Nites.... Farewell Parties and Cool Bikes!

Today was a real long day…..work has been interesting to say none the least…and of course…the nites out on the town was gonna get real interesting! It was the middle of the Singapore Fashion Week and with our association with Triumph….Edwin, myself and a couple of us were invited to the very exclusive black tie Lingerie Fashion Show that was the talk of the town down at the Tent @ Ngee Ann City…so off we went! Of course it gave me a good opportunity to get into my rarely used tux and there we were, with Patrick, Bryant, Prisca, Edwin, Mag, Janice and even Boon, David, Devesh……the list goes on! Julian and Sulian were in the house sipping champagne upstairs and one of the funniest moments was when the MC introduced the show and reminded everyone that there was not suppose to be any photography!!! Guess what dude…tell that to the 50 plus photographers that were crowded at the front of the stage and suddenly…the whole room erupted! Also….note to self….if you wanna give goodie bags….make sure it has something of worth in it instead of just a few vouchers…a few catalogues and a bottle of Diet Coke! Dinner was at a really cool Japanese restaurant in Cuppage Plaza…then off we went to Thumper to catch up with the rest of the Uber gang. It was Jessica’s last day with the company and of course it was a good excuse to throw a party! Also….there was a big Harley Party with the boys and their loud leather and chrome toys parked outside what has become my 3rd home….and all I can say was that we were BORN TO BE WILD!!! YAH!!!

Chris Wilson's Birthday

It was one of those nights that started in a fantastic way….and ended up in something that in a way I would have much preferred differently….. I have known Chris Wilson for nearly 10 years now. All the way from the late 90’s when one of my best friends in the world Daniel Reichman introduced us. Chris came from a banking background back in the States and had come gotten into town about the same dime as Dan. From night to night….Chris has been one of the most regular features in the clubbing scene in Singapore…from Attica to MoS, from Velvet to Km8…there he is with his ever ready smile, his remarkable Mandarin and his bevy of beautiful people…so you can imagine, when Chris throw’s a party…its going to be one of the most rocking nites out on the town! Off I trooped to get him a present in Tangs’ then down to another nightlife icon’s house. Johnny Tan up here in Holland Road. Walking into Johnny’s beautiful house, it was like slipping into Bali with the pool, the jacuzzi, the Balinese décor…and the nearly every party animal that was in town! The list of party luminaries reads like a who’s who of clubland….Johnny and his crowd of models, Huge Hoyes-Cock, David Chin, Sulian Tan, the mumtazz crowd with Robbie, Julian and more other beautiful people than I care to remember. Unfortunately…the rest of the night is something that I really want to forget…. Sigh!!!

FHM "GND".....MTV....and a huge headache!

How many fantastic parties can you squeeze into one nite out on the town? Quite a few apparently! Raymond had called and wanted to do Ministry because of the FHM “Girl Next Door” party at 7.00 p.m. so off there I was with the whole gang. Walking in with the boys and heading straight to the VIP section as arranged by my good friend Conrad from Mediacorp Publishing, the Chivas came straight out and we were poised for a big one! The girls paraded, the drinks flowed and next thing you knew, it was time for us to head to the next party! Running off straight to Loof for the post MTV Fashionably Loud which was co-sponsored by Mumm’s Champagne, we really sweated there! Thank God for the champers cause we really needed it in the heat! The show was supported by my friends from EXPO AV and featured the unusual step of projecting two 10K projectors against the office block next to Loof…and next thing you know…the models are parading from that office block window! COOL!!!! I was called in for a venue 3…a quick drink with some friends across the road at the Long Bar where the Moet flowed again freely…then finally….Raymond and company all decided to head en-mass to Velvet where I promptly lost memory! WHOOOPS! I did it again!

2006 Red Bull F1 Party at Equinox!

It was a much anticipated day for me....the first race of the 2006 F1 Race Season and I was fully anticipating a great nite out on top of the town for the Red Bull Party!!! By the time I got there...it was actually quite packed and was lucky to get a table with a good view.... Well…have been anticipating this for a long time and heard about a gathering organized by my good friend Julian from Red Bull Singapore at Equinox so off I went! Adeline and June came to watch the race with me and Julian turned up just in time! There was also a selection of girls that would represent Red Bull there at the track…and I have to admit I was nearly jealous of the chance to get paddock seats! I wonder if these girls realized what the passes they would receive could mean to a true F1 fan! Oh well…the race was indeed all it was hyped up to be but with no surprise in Renault and Fernando Alonso taking the checkered flag…. Oh…hard core that we were…the four of us trooped over to LIVING ROOM on a Sunday night for a few more drinks! Er….I think the start to a very good week!!!

Polo Black Launch @ Thumper

Believe it or not…not all my nites on the town is totally fun and leisure! There are nites when I do have to work and work hard…and tonite was one of those! As executive producer o my company, I do have to bring home the bacon so to speak and the launch of the latest Polo fragrance, Polo Black, was one of the more interesting shows I not only planned but also choreographed. We did the show at Thumper (as you all can imagine) and had the support of my good friends from Hong Seh Motors with 4 cool Maserati’s including a really cool GrandSport! With the support of Ai Ling, Britta, Stephanie and other T-Model’s as well as the support of my good friend Gerard and his team from Expo AV, we put together a really cool show. Prisca and the Ubersprint team worked hard to make sure the PR aspect of things went of without a hitch and indeed, it was a really cool party where everyone had fun! James Lye, Walter Fernandez, Poh Kay Ping, Giorgio Ferrari, David Furhmann Lim….all the boys with their toys! And guess what….I only have ONE photo of this night!!! Oh well…the show went well at least and only …if only more shows were like this!

Franz Ferdinand Comes To Town!

This has indeed been a year of interesting concerts and getting involved with Midas again with the Franz Ferdinand show at the Indoor Stadium was sure interesting! After taking their production manager, Darren, from Attica to Ministry of Sound and eventually to Zouk and introducing him to Lincoln, I was quite excited about the impending show. I rocked up to SIS at about 6.00 pm. Franz had turned out to be one of the most anticipated shows so far and after getting my friend Jonathan and his crowd into the show to take photos with the boys, we settled down to…..ARGH! When the boys hit the stage and the crowd exploded, all that was left for Michael and myself was to find refuge backstage. The band totally fantastic on stage and the crowd was lapping it up for all it was worth but indeed, I was growing deaf and headed outside to chill and smoke and chat with Cate from the Sony BMG office out of Australia. Come the end of the night, I heard a real funny story of the General Manager of the Inter-Con Hotel where the boys were staying admonishing Alex (the lead singer) about having a seat in the hotel lobby and having a bite to eat! (Apparently, he was none to nice about it while Alex was most apologetic….more woe to him!) So guess what Alex and the boys do??? They stand on stage in front of a sell out 6000 capacity crowd and invite EVERYONE to have a bite with them at the lobby of the Inter-Con after the show and remind them to bring the fantastic local food that the boys have come to love! WOAH!!! Scary man! I could just imagine the chaos that would ensue! After the show, the boys didn’t want to leave their fans waiting and whisked off to the lobby where they signed every autograph in sight with the 300 plus fans that had thronged the unsuspecting lobby and security staff! Hahahaha! That was really funny! Moral of the story…never piss of a pop star! The boys went off for dinner at Indochine Waterfront while I did the advance party to the after show gig at Phuture in Zouk. Man….the Sony people and the recording company were really concerned that the band would not turn up…and as rumors flew about them being seen everywhere else from Momo to not coming at all….no one bothers to listen to the promoters representative that is RIGHT THERE! Anyway, the boys swung in…and the host quickly wished that they didn’t turn up with the chaos that descended. Of course the boys quick did their thing and was very polite about it before deciding that it was “their quiet time” and to much ruckus, we legged it to the last venue of the night that had been expecting us…Thumper (as USUAL I hear my regular readers moan!) Suffice to say, the boys had a fantastic time! It was not as much a circus as when the Black Eye Peas visited but none the less, it was a good time. Adeline came down with her good friend June and staff Chloe who I quickly introduced around. All our Midas team was around like Liz Tong and Stephen Gough…David Chin was in action, Pakistan cricket legend and ESPN host Wasim Akram, Alethea and her girls….and in the end, the boys took to the stage and banged out some fun percussions much to the shock and surprise of the band and management of Thumper! What a LONG nite out on the town!
