A Monday Night Party?

It was quite a random Monday night and David Chin and myself had just finished a meeting when out of the clear blue sky, one of our old friends Brian Chow who publishes Prestiege Magazine in Hong Kong turned up at Q Bar with Randall, his associate publisher Gordon and some really nutty whiskey drinking famous model /actress friend. Of course the drinks flowed as David became the perfect host going thru shot after shot of excellent vodka. KP turned up eventually and then as the evening got later and we got more liquored up...someone suggested to continue the nite on the town in Dragonfly with our guest so off we went! I think I was supposed to catch Raymond for drinks at some point of time and he did turn up for a while and was quite aghast to find that we were drinking 12 year McCallan so what does he do....time for some great Chivas 18!!! Thanks loads Raymond! You made the night out something really special for our guest indeed! And thanks for the ride home David! Just love that Miata!

Of Old Friend and New Ones @ MoS

Its always good to meet old friends that turn up unexpectedly and was especially nice to catch my old friend Karen who had come back for CNY from Hawaii. I havent heard from her in ages since she got pushed off the podium of Zouk early last year and broke her hip resulting in 6 months in a wheel chair! Poor girl! Anyway....she was back and we just happen to catch up at MoS that night! Danny the party king of Living Room there as well as Alvin and a few of the other boys. Also, out of the blue I happen to meet a old family friend, Rustam Seth! His grandmother used to babysit me when I was an infant in Haig Road so our family connection goes back since I was born. Rustam currently lives in Australia and is moving back to join the family business, Sunrise & Co who are the sole importers and distributors of Yonex...and for all you that remember playing badminton when we were kids, it was quite a status symbol to have one of their rackets....I think it was the Carbonex 10 or 20! What a blast from the past! Anyway...one of those nites out on the town with blast from the past is always good! Oh..and for this one...the next day....NO HANG OVER! I think I am losing my touch! Hahahaha!

Ferrari's 60th Anniversary

For someone who doesnt know how to drive....somehow I keep getting invited to all these cool Ferrari events and of course...this year is special to a marque that I have come to love...FERRARI! Not withstanding my great affinity to the F1, there is something more than sexy and sensual to these cars......something that grips both the boys who love their toys and girls who love the boys who love toys so this was a very special night for me. After a long and late meeting with David and Ashur on Thumper, I sped home for a quick change and headed down to Movida at St James to celebrate with my friends this special event. All the boys were there, Julian and Sulian, Billy...Felicia from Crystal Time, Rudy from Hong Seh and Dennis Foo, Cara and Ivan...and of course my old friend and the new Director of Operations of St James, Sharon King! The Tattinger flowed freely with a fantastic buffet of food and friends. If only I had a wide angle lense for the front carpark of St James you would have seen one of the largest single gatherings of Ferrari's ever seen in town. Of course....we partied till the wee nights out on the town and of course...the next day...I paid for it with another of my all to familiar hang overs! Cheers to Ferrari! 60 Years on and with me only owning 2 tee shirts and a few rides in these lovely cars. I seriously need to learn how to DRIVE!

Yin Loong Bites the Dust!

Yes....another good man goes down the isle to a grey dark scary future......or so it may seem! One of Ian's good friends Yin Loong was having his big night before tying the knot and we were all at hand to help him have a good send off! This nite on the town is specially dedicated to those brave souls that have looked at marriage in the eye and decided that playing Fear Factor and eating all kinds of grubby creepy crawlies isnt that bad an option! And guess what.....ever since that night...our budding interior designer has never been seen or heard of again! (Imagine the strains of Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" playing in the background folks!!!)

Chivas @ Cafe Del Mar

Heard so much about the opening of Cafe Del Mar while I was away in Hong Kong so when Chivas threw a party there...I just HAD to attend and make a nite out on the town of it all (though technically its on the beach)! You all know me and my great friendship with Chivas Bro's! Hahahaha! Anyway...it was quite packed that night both with old and new faces.....Franck and company.....Raymond and his wife.....Brendan and company! CDM is quite interesting...not quite sure how it will turn out though but I am sure it will be a magnet for the bikini babes and expat boys. Personally I dont have much of a good or bad impression of the place....I suppose the jury is still out on how it turns out. As I have always said, any club or venue like this needs a soul...needs something or someone more than a pool, sand and sound system to attract and keep the crowd. Lets see how it goes then! Oh....and on a side note...the food leaves alot to be desired from......but who really cares with the hot babes on parade I suppose!

In Hong Kong!!!

Yup! Its been a while since I blogged but I have been really flooded with work ever since I got back from Shenzhen and Hong Kong.....Hong Kong really Rocks! After the few days in Shenzhen and with my lack of Mandarin, coming to Hong Kong was like a breath of fresh air! Even stepping across from China to Hong Kong was just so different! Well...stayed with Victor at his service appartment up in the Mid Levels, one cool place called Park Suites and then worked on the John Legend show that was out in World Expo. Caught up with Manek and painted the town red with him in LKF hitting clubs such as Hei Hei (which was where the press conference for John was held in the afternon...) Dragon-I, Edge (where James Lavelle was playing)...and then also to Drop where I hooked up with another friend called Grant that was the head bouncer there! I also did the great tourist thing taking the Star Ferry across the harbour, walking around the Penninsular Hotel and its famous row of Rolls Royces....hitting the Walk of the Stars and meeting Jacky Chan on the sidewalk! On Sunday we stayed in to watch some great soccer....and then on Monday, went for happy hour with the great guys from Pernod Ricard Hong Kong...big thanks to Donny...before checking out BBoss Night Club with its famous gold plated car that used to ferry guest to their room! What a trip! What a fantastic few nights out on the town! What a HUGE hang over!!!!!
