Courtesy of my Couz....What Kind Of Tarot Card Am I....

You are The Devil

Materiality. Material Force. Material temptation; sometimes obsession

The Devil is often a great card for business success; hard work and ambition.

Perhaps the most misunderstood of all the major arcana, the Devil is not really "Satan" at all, but Pan the half-goat nature god and/or Dionysius. These are gods of pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. This is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. On the flip side, however, the card can be a warning to someone who is too restrained, someone who never allows themselves to get passionate or messy or wild - or ambitious. This, too, is a form of enslavement. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remember that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.

RWS Post Christmas Party

As all good resort people, we had to have a post Christmas Party after our actual party to keep the spirits going and of course the team was ready to rock on! After our casino themed shindig at our corporate office, a couple of us headed on down to St James to continue the party. Shirly, KK, Michael Chin, Michael Joe, Selene, Mark and company quickly ended up in Bellini Room to the sounds of the big band there! COOL! Just as we were settling down, Daniel from APB buzzed in to say that he was bringing down his management team including Bennett, their new GM so of course we had to stay around and have a few cold Heinekens with them before heading on up to Mono to sing the night away. Suffice to say, there were more than a few head-aches in the group the next day after such a big nite out on the town! Next time I know how to please my bosses, karaoke room, mic and whiskey! Time for me to make my case for that promotion! Ha!

George's Birthday or My Journey to the East

Yes....its that time of the year again when one of my best friends and partner, George, celebrates his birthday bash. As you can expect, it had to happen in DongGuan...where its Karaoke and the China Mei-Mei! Hahahaha! Well, the boys turned up in full support of George as did the girls! How he manages to juggle all of the mei-mei's there is a total mystery to me but he was sure ready for a big night out and with the number of girls he had serving him cake and at his beck and call, I am sure he did! Jimmy, Nicky....most of the boys turned up....with the absence of ole' sneaky Lawrence who I heard had run away with another bill and recently got beaten up by some mei-mei hostess for cheating her as usual. Not my normal night out on the town but in support of George....I guess I can make the best of it!

Martell Rising Personalities Party

After just returning from LA, my whole body was really not its usual self. Night became day and day became night.....jet lag was really taking its toll on me and I as totally suffering. But, as you can imagine, the irrepressable me....I then decided the best way to reset my body clock was to head on out, try to have a big night out on the town and then crash. The first party to pop up on the radar was the Martell Rising Personalities Party held down on Robertson Walk. Of course with my great love for Martell, I had to make a appearance and as did everyone else in the party scene with free Martell being poured very liberally! Caught more than a few friends there such as Franck Lapeyre, Pernod Ricard's MD as well as Eng, Alexis, Gavin and the rest of the PR team, Rahidi....my Indonesian friends Pak Michael and Pak Stanley......and a whole host of other bar and club owners and managers. However, by 10.30 pm....the wall hit me! I just had to go...could barely keep my eyes open any more!!! Well.....better to head on in and party another day I always say....

Sat Nites LA Style...

Its Saturday and after our last round of meetings, we finally decided to take some time off. Headed of to the Beverly Centre to catch a bite and wander around...and what did I find? A Ferrari Store! Happy Days indeed! Well....after expanding more than a bit in the store....Angela and me decided to go and catch David from the Dolce Group for dinner at their Italian restaurant, Dolce....and then off to check out Geisha House where we bumped into John Legend no less! Was quite supprised that he remembered me from his tour in Singapore and Hong Kong! With all the work bits done, Brian joined us and off we went to finally have some time to ourselves and enjoy our last night out on the town in LA. Of course we had such a great affection for Area that we quickly found ourselves back there with Costas, his lovely wife, Mio, their GM and ended up a wild rocking night over at an after hours club called Avalon! Really one great nite out in LA before we head back home to Singapore the next day. Bye bye USA! It will be great to get home!

The LA Nights Continue....

After a full day of running all over LA meeting lawyers, TV exec's...and lunch on Rodeo Drive, we had planned to head to 2 other clubs and continue in our mission to check out the glitzy LA nightlife. First we headed off to the Mondrian Hotel with its ever popular Sky Bar. Scot and Brian joined us for cocktails there before we had a town car limo pick us up to the next venue , The Knitting Factory, that was arranged by STB. Live music and a little bit seedy for our taste...they had some guy running around on stage playing guitar in a cow suit! Well...we had promised to go back to check out Le Deux the night b4 so we did and met their owner, Lonnie and a few other people. Nice club Le Deux, very chi-chi too...where the Paris Hilton's and with Aston Kutcher as partner....you can really people watch in this fancy old house converted to a club. We also had promised to go back to have a meeting with Costas an his team there so off we went....had a very interesting and productive meeting followed by a great night out on the LA town! Awesome!!!

Los Angles...The City of Angles

Actually taking this opportunity while lying in bed after my little operation to try to catch up with my blog. After the madness of Las Vegas, off we went to Los Angles! A 3 hour delay at the LV airport made us having to change in the LA airport and then straight to Katsuya for dinner with our partners from Mark Burnett, Scot Cru and Brian Keckich. Katsuya is one of the most chi-chi Jap restaurants in LA being part of the SBE group and having its interior designed by Phillippe Starck. Uber cool...uber expensive...and super difficult to get into. The food was totally fantastic and the company was even better! We also met Josh there who was gonna be our tour guide to nightlife in LA. After dinner, we had a short 2 hours to hit 4 of the hottest nightspots in LA, first we did S-Bar....again owned by SBE and designed by Starck where we met one of their partners, Costas...then we were off to Le Deux where we met their partner there named David. We also hit what eventually turned out to be our fav....Area...and then ended the night in some wild west bar with a mechanical bull that we all took a run at riding! Oh...and of course....as befitted us now TV type VIP's...we rode around in a lovely white strech limo and drunk Dom all night long! Oh...and the natives were very friendly too....Nice right!! Wrapping up our night out on the town, Angela and myself headed back to our hotel, the uber chic The Standard on Sunset which was featured on the Hollywood blockbuster Oceans 13! And we got another 2 nights of this??? Oh we....tomorrow is a full working day of meetings before we hit the clubs all over again!

KA's and LOVE Back Of House....LV 2007

Our last day in Vegas started with one of the most anticipated parts of our trip.....Paul Cockle had managed to swing a private visit to the back of house in KA...so off we went with Michael, Gretna, Mok, Angela and company. It proved to be totally fascinating! The scale of things and the detail, the incredible technology and the attention to safety is unbelievable! Well worth the early morning! Then we went off to check out the back stage of LOVE....the one show we did not manage to catch. No less interesting....a totally different kind of stage...and a totally different kind of show. Well....we didn't have much time cause Angela and me had to depart to LA that evening.....a excellent meal....a couple of quick meetings and then off we were to the airport for another big night out on the town in Los Angles, the City of Angles!!!!

Day 3...and the non-stop frenzy in Las Vegas continues!

Here we go...its Day 3 and we all are severely hung over...and guess what? Boss CALLS! He wants everyone to hustle to the Wynn's Hotel and check out the Tower Suites! Well...off we went thanks to Angela's wake up call...and boy do I feel ill. But the Tower Suites are well worth it. They are quite fantastic! The beds...the piano, the pool.....now this is something you could never imagine! We then went off to the convention.....and then, later that night...it was time to do our nightly series of shows. We had some trouble with getting transport to the MGM Grand to catch KA....so we had to do the VIP thing and get a strech Limo! KA was just out of this world. Everything you could possiblly imagine and more! I really sat from start to finish with my mouth hanging out wide. We then had dinner at one of the restaurants in the hotel before running off to catch O at the Bellagio. Again...a fantastic show but KA and La Reve still tops the charts for me. Off to the Luxor to check out their mega club LAX with their owner.....and then off to check out Tao at the Venetian before calling it the end of another big night out on the town in Las Vegas!
