Dimitri From Paris and Rick Heffernan

Yes...the countdown weekend has arrived and we are all geared for a really big farewell to 2006. And what better way than do start the weekend with catching up with one of my fav DJ's and good friend, Dimitri from Paris! D was in town to play at Attica Too (yes...GASP! I hear....I actually went to Attica Too again!!!) and this time round he brought his wife Sophie and his kid, Oscar! I also had another very special guest in town, Rick Heffernan who I have been in contact with for a while with regards to booking of DJ's. Rick works with Mona Rennalls from Barcelona and represents some of the top names in the DJ industry such as DJ Pippi, Nicky Siano, Salome de Bahia, Dimitri himself and Bob Sinclair! Rick had been on emails with me about his trip here for a while already so it was cool to finally meet him, check him into the hotel and let him sleep before the party started. First thing that night was to meet Dimitri and head on down to Attica Too for his sound check. D had spent 3 days in KL on holiday and who's biggest disappointment was that he could not shop for his much treasured DVD's! Sophie and Oscar came along so while Daniel Teo, the chief resident there and DJ Small sorted D out on the decks, we hug around and played catch with Oscar. We then caught the Samba band at the courtyard before heading over to pick Rick up after his beauty sleep and then off to San Hoi San for some good local grub! Time was getting tight so we first kicked off the night at Q Bar where we met Simon and David for a chat with Rick...then walked over to MoS. We were supposed to meet Godwin P. up in the Sky Bar and unexpectently everyone else turned up! Giorgio was around with one of our old friends Johari, Giorgio's brother and Celina Lin, Edwin and his two angles Lynn and Yvonne, Bernard Lim and Jeremy from Mediacorp's Lush, Ross from Muddy Murphy's...Rudy...Richard..a whole crew of familiar faces! We had to make a run at about 1.30 am over to catch Dimitri's set and meet one of Rick's "friend's" and afterwhich we never saw him again!!! We ended finally rounded out a excellent nite out on the town by catching up with another old friend, Partyman Clifford Chua before heading home and me finally getting a decent night sleep! Well...all I can say is that the party weekend has just begun with Victor coming home on Sat! As they say... Party On Dude!

James Brown

Seen on Channel News Asia this morning.....the Godfather of Soul passes on. The passing of a musical legend that will be missed! Farewell Godfather and Sex Machine.... You will be missed!

Christmas Eve....

Ah....its Christmas Time....Silver Bells and Silent Nites.....Santa's and Salmon! Well...after a very full two days, we took the party down many many notches to spend time with good friends and family instead of some club...and also to actually go to CHURCH on my nite out on the town! Yes...SHOCK & HORROR I hear my friends gasp! He actually goes to church??? Indeed I do! The night started at Franck's house with Christina, Ade...his close neighbours, friends and family. It was a meaningful start to a most special night. Excellent bubbly was popped...superior wine was drunk...and totally fantastic food (there was this baked salmon thing that we had in the pic) was consumed! THANK YOU Franck! It really met something very special to spend Christmas Eve with a close family like yours! Well...the only thing was we could not stay for the TURKEY as we had to run off to St Andrews Cathedral for Midnight Mass. Yes...it was PACKED indeed but there was also a strange peace and quiet there. Carols were sung, tears were shed....sermons were preached and again the warmth of family washed over this very peaceful night out on the town. Service finished before 1 am so we decided to go take a peek at the crowd at Q Bar which was quite but as you can expect, I was determined to at least have a little spirit in me before the nite was out and so we happily trooped off to Thumper for a couple of glasses of champange and water with David Chin, MoMo, Dave and MiYen before calling it a sleepless nite......

Its SATURDAY and we gotta PARTY

Yes SIR INDEED! Its Saturday and we kicked it off with a truly excellent dinner with Alexis, Boon, Jeff, Ade and myself at Imperial Treasure at Ngee Ann City! Something quite unusual which departs from our normal Shima, Goodwood Park Coffeehouse or Jumbo Seafood and it turned out to be excellent! We had quite a spread including the famous Teowchew steamed fish...veggies, noodles...duck and sharks fin....but the one that took the cake for me was the lobster and I spent quite some time digging and cracking into it much to the laughter of everyone! Then we split our ways....I went off to Raymond's house Christmas party while Ade went with her "girl" friends to Bellini Room to catch Dylan. Raymond's house party was cool! Everyone happily helped him deplete his stock of wine ....except me since I had my fav Chivas and this really cool funky Chivas 18 glass to play with! (Note to PR Staff reading this.....it is his own glass from the UK so he claims proudly!) Met with Nicole and Justin Duff and together with Susan, their kids.....and after the mayhem of the young ones quitened down a little...we chilled to watch his wedding videos!!! WHAT A HOOT!!!! We all agree that Raymond has certainly not changed since his wedding and honestly...as good friends....we will always hope you NEVER DO! Next thing you know, the clock strikes 2.30 am and we decide to go check out the B-Yond Party at Q Bar....whooooops....TOO LATE! Anyway.......all those family people head on home while I continue my nite out with picking up Ade and heading to MoS SMOOVE for a while before ending up with Tommy doing some Level Vodka at Living Room! A Really LOOOONG Nite out on the town indeed!

The Christmas Weekend Starts....

Ah! Its time for the weekend leading to Christmas and of course.....Franck had planned a big night out with the boys on Friday at MoS and what a interesting night it was! An excellent time to catch up with some old friends to hang out! It really turned out to be quite the boys nite out on the town with with a couple of magnums of Tattinger Rose disappearing, Francks fav JW....and even Absolut also going down. Chris from Emeral Hill Group making a rare appearance out of his bar on a weekend....Royston (I LoVe ChaMPagNe and my white suit!!!) who we won't see till the New Year since he is off following his passion for diving off Papua New Guinea....but in full effect were Albert and Ricky...Benji, Dr Marc Tay, Picasso...even Gordon popped up for a few and much to my supprise...spotted in the crowd was old friend Patrick Teo and family! A couple of the old ACJC boys were around as well such as Razak who now owns his own tour agency...Ben was rockin' as usual....and even Tommy was around before running of to Thumper and Living Room as usual.....Overall a good way to start the weekend indeed! For me....I hung around and spread some Christmas cheer with Sanjay....then bumped into Robbie who invited me to Attica Too! Oh well....as you can imagine, while Attica Too isn't quite my scene and indeed, it was quite hard to find the back door there (me being totally not a regular), it was interesting no less and it was cool to catch a very tired Cash at the end of the night especially since my FAV! DJ Dimitri from Paris is gonna be playing there this coming Friday!!!

.....of David's Birthday...and Pernod Ricard China @ Q Bar

Its a Wednesday nite out on the town and our great buddy David Chin was having a little party at Q Bar so since my good friend Shaun had finally come back into town and I had some flyers and posters for the John Legend Concert to distribute....we headed on down! Everyone was in the house...Rasina, Boon, Alexis...even Simon! Of course David was in his element and everyone had a good time....and as the party was heating up...Raymond and his guest...a whole bunch of Team Pernod Ricard China dropped in for a visit. They had come into town for some big Martell event and as luck would have it...one of their sales guys won the 1 million'th guest from China! Lucky guy and perhaps lucky for STB as well since it could have very easily been some hot Chung Kuo Mei Mei here to hang out with my partner, George (ah...those of you who know me would know what this would mean!!! Hahahaha!). Eng, Gavin and Brandon as well as quite a number of the other MOT (thats Modern On-Trade) Team also came for support and to renew friendships. Oh...and the PR (that is Pernod Ricard and not the other term people!) girls from China are OFFICIALLY HOT HOT HOT!!!! Makes us all want to move there even if we have to take a pay cut! Hahahaha! Anyway....after a few bottles of Cordon Bleu, Mumm's and 2 bottles of excellent Perrier Jouet Rose as well as a couple of interesting stories about poorly brought up Frenchmen....off they went to supper! I had to go meet Gary Callicott at Double O so Shaun came along (he had heard that there were loads of hot young girls there) and thus so did Raymond (who had not been there since the renovation). We got in without a stamp and that did cause some problems for Raymond and Shawn who wanted to go check out the action in the main room with some of the totally rude bouncers there which marred the night. Near the end....even Danny Yong from Black Label appeared! Danny has been a friend since I lived in KL and he joined us for a few shots as we chatted with George, the manager in charge about the importance of service and being polite to your customers! In the end all was well and Shaun and me ran off to Zouk to catch some other friends. All I can say for the rest of the night was....poor Shaun didn't even know where he left his car and he finally managed to collect it from the Marriott the next night!!! Till now he declares thought he LOVES Cordon Bleu.....Cordon Bleu seems to like to kick him in the head after a few rounds! Hahahaha! Oh....er....and yes.....kind of didn't even get a picture of David Chin in the mayhem! Happy Birthday David!

Kay Ell comes to Town!

Thats right.....over the weekend had a good supprise that some of my good friends from KL, Tunku Eddy and his girlfriend, Neiza as well as Lisa Rahim and her cool husband Kamal dropped into town and gave me a chance to show them my side of Singapore! Well....Eddy's brother Tunku Jamie and Lisa's brother, Boy, are two of my best friends in KL so it was a long awaited chance to show of my town! Was suppose to pick them up at 10.00 pm from Que Pasa but it traffic was stalled all the way from Tanglin Road so after a major taxi diversion, finally got them at Hotel Phoenix only to find that they were 4 of them! Amazing thing was that the cab driver let us all pile in (I know....amazing for a local taxi driver)...and off we headed to Q Bar. When we got in, bumped into Sunder who was doing some Courts event there...and to our supprise...Kelly Rowland who was with Destiny's Child was doing a gig in our club room! Of course, my friends being from KL....they were fans of hip hop and was a plesant supprise! Though the sound system sounded quite bad (I suppose they didn't have budget since they spent of the millions of bucks on their new building) and had to use ours. After chilling and taking in the atmosphere and champagne....we then headed off to my next home, Velvet! Of course...by the time we got there the party was in full swing and they got the full treatment from Victor and Lincoln....tray after tray after tray after tray of shooters.......I think they were quite in shock! Lisa was fairly blown away with the art! Original Henri Li's....Keith Harings... Andy Worhol's Venus Finally we moved up to Members at about 2.30 am for a does of some harder stuff....and of course....walking into Members...who should we bump into but Kershin and Charles who continude to ply us with more champagne!!! What a excellent nite out on the town and something I hope my friends will remember.....sans hangover! Hahahaha!
