Because the second time round is a charm......yes...my continuing efforts into the bar business continues with Timbre @ The Arts House. Well....after the demise of Q Bar after gross mismanagement, a couple of the shareholders such as Arthur Tay, Howard Kim, Franck Ong, Scott Jung and so on decided to keep it going with the hope of making back some of the money that was just squandered by our previous management, the once Sultan of Mohd Sultan. Its really ironic that I found out that while he could not manage his shareholders money nor his own money, he is now working in UBS pretending to manage other people's money! Funny! Anyway...after much heartache, we have did a great deal with our other partner Karen Hoong and her Ublues group which include Danny Loong and Edward Chia to rebrand our little club as Timbre @ The Arts House. We have actually been open for a few months now and with proper management, the ledger books look alot better. So....come 31 Oct 2007, we will be throwing our Official Grand Opening Party (albeit belated but you know good things need time to perculate). Come on down and check us out if you are planning a nite out on the town. It promises to be quite a blast! Fir more info...check out our website....www.timbre.com.sg.
Yes..the party animal finally records his nights out...and makes an effort to try to at least stay sober to remember what I ended up doing! People always say that its not the destination but the journey that counts...but all I say is that so long as you end up in a room with great music, cool company and a glass of Chivas...the rest doesn't matter.

Rap Battle @ MoS
In conjunction with the Black Eye Pea's concert, 98.7Fm and MoS had organized a DJ Rap Battle with tickets to catch the Pea's so of course I had to make a appearance. In the house was Mark Richmond and the 98.7 gang including Roz and X. It was quite cool to catch the local MC's throw it down with a mix of hip hop and hokkien thrown in for good effect! What a laugh! Mel Tyler popped in, Jerome from Carlsberg as well as Jeremy, and of course later in the night when the party moved to MoS Sky Bar, Ismay, Tia and her girls popped in and to top off a great nite out on the town bumped into my cousin Julian with another of his long train of hot dates!
Deluxe Black Tie Nite with Earth, Wind and Fire
It was unusual invite from my friend, Connie, who works at Raffles the Plaza, to come for a very special, very uber excluslive party hosted by some Italian group called Deluxe together the Raffles Group...and which would feature Earth, Wind and Fire! It was black tie so I had to hustle my tux over to the hotel after work, head over to the Padang for the Bull Run and then back to the spa there for a quick wash up and change. It was certainly something special when I hit the venue with what seemed to be some serious planning involved. Indian bhangra band to usher in the crowd, super high end jewelery exhibit in the pre-function area, champange and lots of interesting company! Franck and Trisha, Anastasia and her cousin was at our table, as did Gerard and his wife, Chris Guy Harrison, Arthur Tay and his wife....a very interesting and elite mix indeed. The ballroom was cut into a third for the dinner which featured fantastic second growth wines, exclusive bubbly, wagyu beef....wow...they really pulled out the stops here! The tables were a unusual kidney shape seating 7 which gave everyone a great view of the fashion show by Givenchy.....and when the stumptious dinner was over, we were ushered into the other two thirds of the room where everyone had their own sofa seat to catch Earth Wind and Fire up close and personal! Boogie Wonderland indeed!!!! There was also a cool Zonda and the Merc DTM on display as well as a more excellent wine! How cool can it be???? Well....Feli and me headed off to the farewell of her collegue Ching Wyin at St James after that and I swear we got better service cause of my tux! All in all....a super smashing nite out on the town guys! It really shows how good a party can get with some thought and planning as well as a nice big budget!
Boys Nite Out!
For some strange reason it was a boys night out at MoS where Stewart was hosting some friends. Indeed it was a smal small world when we bumpedin to my partner at Timbre @ The Arts House, Thomas Fernandez who was also celebrating his birthday...or was it his daughter's birthday and was having a great nite out on the town as well! Well...I had to move on over to Zouk to catch up with the brothers Ian and Jeremy....and of course, we had a good night out! Cheers lads!!!
August Anniversary and then Il Lido....a long night indeed!
Well...its time for the party circuit to continue...and off we were to the August Anniversary Party at Red Dot. Mind you there was a Tatler party at Il Lido so people were running from one to another...but of course I had to drop into August cause of the Chivas connection. Was certainly a big night out with a good mix of old and new friends.....Leslie and Bryant, Alwyn, Ching Wyin, my cousin in law Gary, Frances Low and fellow socialites......and loads of Chivas. How does one chose when the bartender ask you "Sir, would you prefer Chivas 12 or 18?" Of course I happily helped myself to the excellent 18!!! It was quite a funny night that my goodie bag at the end of the night ended up with a mouse, some vouchers, a power cable for a laptop...and cheques for payment for the event!!! Very interesting indeed! Daniel was kind enough of offer us a lift up to Il Lido and there we bumped into Giorgio, SuLian, Julian and a whole load of fun! However the party seemed to be winding down by then...so we decided to call it a early night after our fair fill of Tattinger Rose and a more than satisfactory nite out on the town.....

Angela's Birthday!
Recently got to become friends with Angela and she has become someone I really do like alot! She has a character that is totally giving to her friends, caring, supportive and being strong...and yet as she faces a tough time within her own life, it shows she herself has so much courage and strength! A totally awesome young lady.......and someone who really knows how to have a big nite out on the town! Happy Birthday Angie (though this is a little late as usual!!!).

LUNAR's Opening
Another Canto club hits town by the nice lads from Life Brandz. Lunar takes the place of Clinic and it is indeed quite the club. The grand opening saw a gathering of the usual suspects as expected on a Tuesday night....all the lads from Pernod Ricard and their friends, Jake, Eng, Gavin...Franck turned up...even George and friends! Patrick Ee dropped in as did Giorgio, Michael Tadindo, Bhagman....20 red headed girls that dont quite speak English but all look totally alike! Well...after 2 bottles of 4.5 litres of Martel Cordon Bleu as well as loads of Chivas and more than a few bottles of Tattinger, it doesn't really matter right? Oh well....indeed a huge night out on the town yet again! Perhaps I need to learn Mandarin real soon to fully enjoy this new club.....NAH!....looks like its back to Timbre @ The Arts House, Velvet, Zouk Members and Sky Lounge for me....and of course, the new alternative....Thumper!
Ferrari's 200th F1 Grand Prix Win!
Yes...as we all look forward in anticipation for the next race in Brazil, Ferrari has made history AGAIN! 200 WINS! Thats right.....Scuderia Ferrari drivers have actually stood on the top step and and claimed the ultimate prize in motor racing. That is a historic achievement....and in that, I post pictures of a 1964 all the way to a sight of the magnificant marvel that it has now become. Forza Ferrari my friends! And of course....riding in one is always a big night out on ANY town!
