Off we go....to Shenzhen! The last time I was there was 2 years ago with George and it was time to go check it out again! So off we went! We got into Hong Kong which was rather drab and chilly...about 14 degrees.....then took the train straight into Shenzhen. By the time we got in, George and me quickly dropped our bags and headed out to check out the scene. Of course, George had friends all on standby to get the party set...and off we went for a quick bite. Shenzhen is suppose to be a small city but it has 10 million people! More than just our tiny little dot called Singapore! You know you are in China when on some street corner near our Golden Hotel is a poster of Chairman Mao! Hahahaha! The buildings are just huge! Everything is big there...construction seems to be booming and there are people everywhere constantly moving..... the lights of the city is just a glare of wild color and there is a building that who's whole facade is a LED signboard! Ken and his crew brought us to the familiar restaurants to eat and then we tried to check out Class Club but much to our supprise, we found that it had shut so we headed off to Face. Face had a new sister club called Richy pounding out some mean hip hop for this little corner of China so we hung there and polished off a bottle before calling it a early night. The next night, we headed back to Richy after a fantastic hot pot dinner which cost us all of $120 for 10! Of course by then George had changed company and had another of his friends Solomon to guide our nite out. The food was good...the music was happenin' and the company was ...well...all I can say is by the end of the night....I was wishing I had learnt Mandarin! I had planned to head over to Hong Kong to catch up with John Legend and his merry band on Saturday afternoon for more nites out on the town! I just cannot wait to get back into a town that has signboards in ENGLISH!
