In conjunction with the DS Lee Charity Foundation, the Ferrari Owners Club got together for a good cause to have a charity drive this fantastic Sunday afternoon. The word went out and of course the club members heard the call to support a worthy cause. Alex, Charmaine and their team had arranged for a great Tulip course for us and 31 teams in everything from the newest Ferrari 599 to the Challenge Stradele.....Maserati Grande Sport Limited Edition (Edward's very own) to the Spyders and Quatroportte, Tim's very cool Testarosa to Franck's F430 Spyder rolled to support. Well, as you can imagine, the turn out was impressive, everyone from Seng Gee, the President Dr Ben, Rudy, Daniel and Karen......and just about every other familiar owner we knew. Royston had invited me to be his navigator on this course I was totally happy to do so. The course started at the Dempsey Road Car Park and after a course that took us from Commonwealth to Kent Ridge and then onwards to Mt Faber and finally to One15 Marina, the cars made a mad scramble. Some got lost, some missed the route markers, some headed straight to One15 for beers....and others ended doubling back here and there to complete the trail. I am indeed totally supprised that inspite of a few interesting road blocks and delays, Royston and myself reached One15 only to find no one else had reported in! Even Charmaine and her reception crew had not arrived and Roy even had time to go pray and break fast! Dinner followed with the kind support of Giorgio Ferrari and his wines and champagne as well as food from One15. After the cheque presentation, it was time to award the winner....and coming in 3rd was Seng Gee, second was TJ Tay and supprise supprise....Royston and myself had been declared the winner!! Overall a super (day) and nite out on the town with a cool trophy too boot!
And to top everything off....Ferrari came in first and second for the Spa Race!!! Talk about a great nite out on the town...I dont think it could get any better!
