SuLian Spins....McLaren 07 F1 Car....and something called Johnny!

Its a Friday night and Mercedes McLaren were showing off the 2007 car at St James but before that....we had to go and check out Hacienda where my SuLian was playing tunes from the 70's and 80's! Julian was there in full support so when George and me rocked in, the tunes were pumping quite well thank you! All too soon Franck called and off we trooped to St James where the tent was made to look like some huge bottle of JW on its side....Trooping inside with George, we quickly bumped into Bobby.....Lawrence, Franck and Chua. The car looked quite cool but was quite unimpressed with the manner of the launch. It was just some snazzy lights and thats about it! Oh well.....Franck, Chua and me slipped of to Gallery where we met Edward and Caroline heading to check out the competition. We had the usual suspects around with Edward, Caroline and Gary as well as a couple of the other Ferrari ownes...and even Sharon popped in for a while. Gallery seemed unusually uninteresting but then Say Yong, Jessy, Step and the girls came in to celebrate Cindy's birthday. Had to call it a early nite out on the town since was heading to KL the next day though so thats about all folks! Hokkien Mee, KL Bak Kut Teh, Kon Loh Char Siew Mee......oh...good food in KL calls!

Jaeger-LeCoultre : Reverso SQUADRA

This was one party I didn't expected to get invited to! Jaeger-LeCoultre was launching their Reverso Squadra and as my family is a hard core fan of the brand, I was invited by their MD, Maxime Labey. The party was held at a way unusual place, inside the auditorium of the Esplanade Theatre....and so Ade and me suited up and trotted down to check it out. It was quite strange at first...being on stage at the theatre...but then as the night went on and the curtains came up with more and more to see....the fancy face changing from China eventually gave way to the launch of the Reverso Squadra! WOAH!!!! It is WAY WAY cool! The normal version (if there is such a thing as a normal Jaeger) starts at about $9K and the very limited to 1500 pieces world timer titanium version kicks at $25K!!! Well....supprise supprise we didn't really catch many familiar faces but Patrick Ee and Sharon Wang were in attendance....as did George and his date later on! The other thing that was really in short supply that night was FOOD. The little tit bits they had really did not lend itself to a 8.00 pm function when people come after work and are starving! (I do with other events managers should learn!) So off we went..trooped down to Harry's Bar and availed ourself to bar food.....oh sigh......note to self...make sure to have decent meal before big night out on the town!

A REAL Early Morning

I know this blog is about my nites on the town...but I do have the occasional day activity that I blog about...but this one was WAY too early! Nortel, one of the world leader in internet connectivity, communications, nodes and networks and all that good stuff had hired me to be their Master of Ceremonies for their way cool "Take Your Office ANYWHERE" event. I must say they throw a mean spread for breakfast! Oh well...the start of a real LONG new day! I really must try to remember not to take these kinds of engagements unless they pay me ALOT more!

Ferrari & Maserati Party @ Bellini Room

Ok....looks like I am here again! But tonight is for a kick ass party thrown by the Ferrari and Maserati distributorship, Hong Seh Motors. Giorgio had kicked in with a free flow of Tattinger and when I tell you all the boys showed up...I really mean ALL! The carpark was a wonderland of Ferrari's and Maserati's in every model, make and color....Edward started the ball rolling and soon we were all happily in the mood. Clinton Ang, my old school mate Timothy Chan from Polar Cafe, Giorgio, Sulian and Julian....Christopher Guy....making a late entry was Franck and Chua! Anastasia and Caroline were everywhere as all good host would be....and even KC and Say Yong swung by. Of course Ade and me had such a great night out on the town.....what a kick ass night! Thank you so much Hong Seh! Lets hope the "Prancing Horse" keeps on gallopin'!!!

SuLian @ Bellini Room

Once again it was a trip to the Bellini Room to catch SuLian take the stage and what a performance she gave! Singing light jazzy numbers to a more than appreciative crowd that had gathered, we really cheered her on! Raymond joined me before he headed off to Goa together with Ian who I had not seen since he got back..... and we were all prepared to make a great night out on the town! The company was totally brilliant and the entertainment was first class. Kelly at St James really made us all very comfortable and with the boys like Billy Yeong, Gordon...Dennis Foo and gang as well as Sulian's friends from STB such as Lynette and her husband, we had the start of a rockin' night. Brandon slipped in with a bunch of his friends....and soon the Mumm's was flowing and we were happily buzzed! Edward, Caroline and Gary Goh were smacked in the middle of a rather large bubbly war with Tattinger on one side and Moet on the other. It was quite unfortunate that Pierre from Moet had to spoil the mood with statements about my poor taste in bubbly that was said really without much class and just happened to be heard by a few too many peoplel!! He clearly had way too much Champers but I was totally amused to see that parked right next to his Dom was a nice bottle of Cordon Bleu! He may have poor manners but he certainly knows the right cognac to drink! Well....not one to let my night be ruined by the uncultured...off I headed to the Nest at Zouk to celebrate Jamie's birthday with the boys in full swing! More bubbly...and the start of a fantastic weekend!

FOIS 1st Anniversary

Christina Liang had invited us down for a little bubbly and bites (if only someone had told the caterer to heat up the food) at the FOIS Boutique at Centrepoint...and with Sulian being one of their guest models, we decided to make a trip of it! The clothes at the boutique were "interesting" to say the least...not something my dear Addie would be caught dead in at any time even if she did turn into a Tai Tai one day and of course we did bump into Franck again who as still suffering from a hang over from the Bellini Room party! I always wonder why models at these kinds of shows have models with HUGE hair! I always thought the psudo-afro's and puffy big hair-do's only work if you were some nightclub Mama San. Well....the lack of food and mood didn't make it into a all together big nite out on the town but there again...sometimes, early nights and good company are better!

Raymond Wei SHINE Launch!!!

Looks like its time for a quick update..and the start of quite a few post with the fantastic Bellini Room and The Gallery as the backdrop for quite a few events. After working quite a bit with the girls from Crystal Time who distribute Raymond Weil, they kindly invited me for the launch of SHINE, their new range of watches and it proved to be quite a bright event! With the cool classics of Jazz in the background...Franck, Feliza, Felicia, Ching Wyin and the rest of the girls around as well as my old friend Andrew, we had the start of quite a nite on the town! Oh! Yeah...and the watches were really cool...if you are a girl! Bumped into KC and some of the boys and so headed down to catch Boon and Co. at Members for a few! Somehow those few turned out to be quite a bunch as we happily went through tray after tray of shooters and BlowJobs! Karen Hoong had a drastic haircut and nearly didnt recognize her...Jeff and me were quite spiffy in our jackets, David Chin was in PINK again, Maddie made a guest appearance...and Sum Yee went home with quite a mouthfull of cream! How fun!
