Timbre @ The Arts House Grand Opening in Pictures

Ah...another long delayed post for the the opening of Timbre @ The Arts House. After the mistakes of Q Bar, we were fortunate to find new partners such as Danny Loong and Edward Chia who together with Karen Hoong own and manage Timbre @ The SubStation. After taking over, they have been actively working to right the wrongs and restructure the business to concentrate on the local music market as well as building a loyal and regular crowd. Of course we are glad to see that they have been very successful in pulling it off and finally we decided to throw our opening party on 31 Oct 2007. A very limited number of guest were invited....just close friends and business associates to have a good night out on the town. Of course most of our partners turned up, Frank Ong, Howard Kim, Arthur Tay, Prakash Mulani, Scott Jung, Thomas Fernandez, Karen Hoong and of course Danny and Edward. Also in attendance were Richard Eu, Daniel Teo from APB, Eng and his team from Pernod Ricard, David Furhmann Lim from FHM, Julian Chee and Sulian Tan, Jeff Goh and Jeszlene Zhou and even Beppe from Il Lido, Joseph Kwok, Rozlyn from Mediacorp, popular local singer Robert Fernando and a whole lot more. We had Jive Talkin' doing a set as well as a few other prominent local musicians such as EIC. All together...a excellent night out!

Roberto's Birthday Bash @ Bice!!! (...and it rhymes too!)

My good friend and restaurant manager, Roberto, was throwing his big birthday bash at Bice. The weekend was here and after a long week...I was ready for some fun indeed! Didn't have much food...but had quite alot of wine and great company. A couple of the usual suspects turned up...Ismay and a friend of her's....Brian Masters.....and half the Italian party community. After that I headed over to Lunar to catch up with my Indonesian buddy Michael and Stanley. Jerome turned up with Gillian and freinds....and even Patrick Ee! Turned out to be a very big nite out on the town for me.....and boy did I suffer it the next day. Oh well.....thats to be expected from partying on a empty stomach. Oh well......tomorrow is another day then!

The Dino

Just a quick post on a thing of beauty that came to my office....had a meeting with Edward Tan and Franck Manichon in my office earlier before the Pea's concert...and Edward happened to drive one of ony 2 Ferrari Dino's on in Singapore and the only one that actually has been restored and runs! Check it out man! A creature of beauty indeed! This is one babe that I would sure like to take out for a night out on the town!!!

Lets Get It Started!!!! - The Pea's Live

Yes Sir.....its a Monday night and we are ready...the world's biggest hip hop group, The Black Eye Pea's were in town again. We had a few small heart-attacks with one of the girls in the crew not feeling well and needing some medical attention back stage and big Vernon requiring some as well but other than that everything went off without a hitch. The venue was the Singapore Indoor Stadium....and with the opening act by The Click 5, the Peas stormed the stage with individual acts by Apple, Will.I.Am and Fergie! Of course the Pea's all pulled together with their greatest hits after their own segments and the whole stadium was grooving! I managed to get my friend Franck seats right in the first few rows with Tircia and her staff and somehow they were invited backstage for a the meet and greet which was very cool! The whole Midas staff was on hand with Mel, Michael, Nigel and crew all present. I had handed over most of my duties to my successor, Elaine Yeo so I was mostly just a guest there. After the show, we headed back to the hotel and had intended to head over to Thumper....but with the driving rain outside, the boys decided to stay in and continue the party at the Living Room. Of course I joined them for a few but called it a early night out on the town due to work the next day.......how strange for me rigtht! Times...they sure are a changing.

The Click 5 Arrive....

Here we are guys....some of the nicest boys I have worked with in the business...The Click 5! These guys had a whole bunch of kids at the airport waiting for them and they posed with every single one who asked for a picture and signed every single thing thrust in front of them EVEN THOUGH they were obvoiously exhausted. Checked them into the M Hotel...and then off back to a quick nite out on the town with the Peas! Whoa yeah!!!

The Peas Arrive!!!

Well....the Peas were coming into town for their concert at the Indoor Stadium and of course I had to go pick them up! They were coming into town on a private wide body charter so they had arranged to use the CIP Terminal in Changi. The terminal staff were very helpful and we had a good team running the show the next day so we were really comfortable heading off to the Marriott and then up for the dinner reception that the hotel threw for them by the pool. I ended up sitting opposite Fergie....caught up with Apple who remembered me...and Will....and tuck into a some good food. Made friends with their agent, Jonathan Lavine who was a great help to hook me up during my Las Vegas trip. As the party wound down, we then headed down to Living Room to catch the F1 race and where the boys continued to boogie down for another nite out on the town. Me? Off I headed to pick up the opening band....Click 5 before coming on back to catch the boys for a few and heading home way early!

Coach Autum Winter Collection

Kelly and the nice people from the Valiram Group had invited me to their Coach Autum / Winter Collection at the Prime Society in Dempsy Hill so up the hill we went! We didn't really meet many of the usual suspects there but did bump into Bhagman from CNA and a few other friends. It was a very good chic venue for this event and I had quite a few glasses of bubbly (I think it was sparkling wine though.....). Didn't really make it to be a late nite out on the town....now learning the virtures of calling it early and being responsible.....SHOCKING for ME right???? Hahahaha! I think my cousin Kelvin would be proud!

Panasonic Kranji Mile

Well...another day at the races for me but this time not as much luck as before. Leonard had invited us to one of their landmark events so off I went on a bright Sunday with Felicia for our day at the races. Again we were invited to the VIP box so we had to dress in our Sunday best and hob knob in style! It was quite a enjoyable time meeting new people and picking horses...but this time I left with my pocket a little lighter. Well...now that I am kind of in the gaming business...I should know that the house always wins! We wondered around the terraces to check out the uncles and aunties...and then called it a good day before the crowd caught up with us. Not really a nite out on the town but none the less something fun and unusual to do on a Sunday!

TNP New Face 2007

Its been a long long long while since I blogged. My new job at Resorts World has really taken alot of my time but I am loving it none the less. A great opportunity, exciting projects, fantastic people.....what more can I ask? Anyway....a quick entry about another cool nite out the town that I had....The New Paper New Face 2007 Awards. Geoff Tan, another old mate of mine who was the main organizer had invited me and asked me to help secure a after party venue which I I easily managed to do witht he support of Thumper. After work, I headed down to Ngee Ann City. We got quite a good seat along the catwalk and the show commenced with Daniel Boey's "Back To School" choreo. Quite fun and quirky indeed! Subaru Motorimage was the main sponsor and of course my friend Glenn Tan was one of the judges. Of course there were familiar faces in the crowd with Andrea Fonseka hosting, one of the original TNP New Face girls, Angeline Nicole Teo...and a the rest of the press crowd. Well....the fun really happened after the show with us heading over to Thumper. Big thanks to Boon, Shay and the management for sponsoring the drinks for the night! With Ivan and Ken, I am sure the news room had more than a few hang over's the next morning!!!!
