After our late evening flight back to Sydney....we headed back to our suite and then headed for a look around the casino. Up early the next morning and we headed off to take a bus tour around Sydney aiming to go up to world famous Bondi Beach. Sydney is a really pretty city with lots of history and character. Bondi was a little cold and blustery by the time we got there and not a blonde bikini babe in sight or some muscle bound Australian beefcake. The bus brought us back around to town where we caught a cab back to the hotel to change up for dinner with our good friends Alison and Stuart who comp'ed us the room...and my cousin Keith! Strange...we go all the way to Australia and our big engagement dinner is......CHINESE! A great nite out on the town in the casino with lovely friends before we pack up the next day and head back to sunny Singapore as a happily engaged couple!

Tasmania Day 4

Well.....its been ages since I blogged so as I watch Japan and Paraguay run a listless game, I thought I would update my blog with the 4 day of our Australian trip....and the first day after my engagement! Yup! I am officially engaged!A early morning breakfast....a nice long walk around Swansea and followed by a drive up to the national park and the awesome spectacle of Wineglass Bay for lunch before we left back to Sydney and our last nite out on the town there! The sheer natural beauty of Tasmania will always hold a special place in our hearts and I am sure we will one day go back to visit!

Tasmania Day 3

It was a real early flight from Sydney "across the ditch" as the Aussies put it...to Tasmania. I have been talking and promising to visit my Godfather Clive for nearly 35 years...and finally I made it! After picking us up at the really provincial airport....we went off for a drive arount Hobart and to check out the museum. A yummy local seafood lunch by the piers and then up to Mount Wellington! Talk about COLD!!! Thogether with the wind chill....I figure that the thermometer dipped to below zero! A little snow fight between us as Godfather kept warm in the car and then off we went to Swansea to his little slice of paradise. A typical country house with a beautiful garden....cute dogs and of course Min and Greer. It was the perfect setting for our engagement which sure took the family by supprise! I think my Godfather was really really proud and I could not have asked for a more memorable place to pop the question. Then standing under the clear Tasman sky with stars sparkling made it a perfect nite (not in the town) but in the garden!

Australia Day 2

Its been quite a while since I blogged so thought I would do a quick and much delayed update on our trip to Australia. Day 2 started real early for us as I had booked what has been much touted as the "Must DO" thing in Sydney...and that is to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I had booked our slot way in advance to make sure we had one and it sure wasnt cheap....but quite worth the experience! We had a real funny climb master and the headsets supplied was constantly filled with little tidbits of information and jokes. As we hit the top....we had quite a fantastic view of the Sydney Harbour and the Opera House....beautiful! They really know how to milk you with especially since you cannot take your own camera up there and they charge you about $25 bucks a photo..and since you made such a trip and climbed all the way...you naturally take them all! After the trip we took the ferry over to Manly for lunch. We really wanted to try the famous Australian Fish and Chips and what a meal it was! The chip shop was fantastic and the food was enuff to fill us twice over. Manly was like a different world...a little touristy but laid back. Well....back to Sydney...a spot of shopping, checked out the casino and a early nite (not out on the town) in view of our really really really early flight to Tasmania.

The Big Climb Down Under

So...when U google things that you just got to do down under, the first one that comes up is the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb...so before we went...I made a booking to ensure we took part of this experience. Mind you...it is not cheap...but considering it is one of the icon's of Australia...and that I wanted to make this trip totally something special and to be remembered, I decided that this would be one trip that I would splurge on. Up the bridge we went...and what a view we got!!! Totally worth the climb! Coming down from the climb...we decided to head off on the ferry to Manly and check it out. One of my colleagues said that it was another one of the "must do" things when in Sydney...so off we went to check out the beach and have their fish and chips! Well...it was like no fish and chips that I have ever had with fresh prawns, oysters, muscles...just totally fantastic! We spend a quiet evening walking Darling Harbour doing a spot of shopping and a early nite in anticipation for our very early flight to visit my godfather over in Tasmania the next day.

I have heard that my closest cousin seems to be facing some tough times with his blog. Knowing him for all my life...remembering his drawings when I was a kid (I always wanted to draw like you cuz) and that he spent alot of his working life as a journalist....he has always had a creative bent. He has always been a little different, living life a little askewed and on his own terms...a little bit of the rebel (no wonder he was involved with Harley Davidson!!!)...and much much more. I have always looked up to him...and without a doubt, would not be the person I am and where I am in life now without his quiet support. So from across our little bridge Cuz.....know that you are loved and that I offer my love, support and encouragement! Cannot wait for us to have another nite out on the town soon!!!

Its been a long while since I last blogged....bogged down with work....and just too tired to put fingers to the laptop to come up with a entry and just not having any creative juices left in me for the weekend...But this being a long weekend and with my baby still fast asleep in bed (kind of...she kicks and tosses around quite a bit)....I thought I would just drop in a new post with some pictures of the trip to Sydney! We had a fantastic suite at the Star City Hotel and Casino with the most beautiful view thats to Stuart...and Mind you we did not really have many big nights out on the town in Sydney but I must say we enjoyed the times we did! Oh....and the food there is fantastic. The oysters at Peony down at The Rocks are to die for!!! I could just eat my way through that town!!!!

Its been ages since I updated my blog...work has been totally nuts with our opening looming....but a fantastic new exciting chapter in my life has begun! I am officially ENGAGED!!! Yes....we went off to Sydney and then went over to visit Godpa Clive...and that first night in his quaint house with the beautiful garden, I went on my knees and asked my darling Sylvia to marry me...and she accepted!!! My nites on the town will never be the same....now there will be the two of us to share our days...and nights!

Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy

One of the most special nites out on the town happend to me last week. I was invited to the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy 5th Annivrsary Gala Dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel and got hijacked by a friend to join her table as her dad was not attending. Next thing you know, I end up at the front table hosted by none other than our Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean!!! We were feet away from the stage listening to our founding father, Lee Kuan Yew take questions from the audience and his insight on everything from China to the world economic crisis! Amazing!!! And what more, talking to DPM, we realize we are both Man U fan's (he studied in Manchester!) and had similar opinions on the Man U Vs Arsenal match we both caught!!! This was not just small talk but to soccer fans chatting about the Beautiful Game! Only difference is that one fan was a humble manager in a resort...and the other was the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore!!!!! I could not believe what a night out on the town it turned out to be!!!

I have always been a great F1 Grand Prix fan...the whole excitement of the ultimate in motor sports...man and machine pushing themselves to the limits of human endurance and the pinicle of technological excellence....as well as the glam parties and ultimate in deal making as you sip champagne and have a big night out. Then reality strikes...that these hero's I watch....who ride carry the flag of the Prancing Horse.....also participate in one of the most dangerous sports in the world. A whole mix of speed and unpredictability.....anything can happen. And last weekend.....it did..to Filipe Massa. My fav driver on track and one of the best drivers in the championship....a horrible accident....Thank God there does not seem to be any brain damage but equally worrying is the possiblity of injury to his eye.....Our hopes and prayers are with you Felipe......I hope and pray you recover fully and look forward to seeing you flying down the track in my beloved Ferrari soon! Forza Ferrari....

Michelle and Adrian's Wedding

It was the wedding of the season! My good friend Adrian and Michelle were finally going to tie the knot after all this time. Adrian has been a good buddy of mine for some years now and I am so glad that he finally realized that Michelle was the right one for him! A great nite out on the town was expected and eventually had by eyeryone at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Most of the lads turned up...Edward Tan, Franck M....Bobby H and his brother in-law Sam.....Dr Chan as well as Caroline Lam and Hawking.....and of course the bride and groom! It was a massive wedding with more than 80 tables so they kindly also arranged for cardboard stand in's for friends who wanted to take pictures with them! How thoughtfull! Congrats Bro! Hope you have many many years of happiness and health!

Mambo Mambo Nites with the Entertainment Crew

Wednesday nights are Mambo nights out on the town. A time honored tradition for young and old, local or foreign, gay or straight....its a time to sign dance to Square Rooms and Walk Like A Egyptian....to have one too many shots of Sex on the Beach...and to just let your hair down! Well...after weeks of working hard...the department decided to take a much deserved break in the middle of the week and introduce our new colleagues to what is Zouk's Mambo Jambo! Jason, Gregg, Skip....Cat....and also some of the maketing team such as Rosemary, Stephen and company swung into Members for a great night of fellowship and fun! We had the kind lads from Red Bull and BeamGlobal who also dropped in so we had more than our fair share of Russian Standard and Red Bull coupled with loads of shots! Now lets just see if Gregg actually incorporates the moves he saw on the dance floor into Universal Studios Singapore! That would really be so Singaporean!!!

It was the soft launch of new watering hole KPO and the guys from Q were celebrating their first yar anniversary. Naturally Anastasia had invited me down to join in with the revelry on what promised to be a big night out. Well....went down with my new colleague Heidi Huang who will be the manager of our Maxims Tower ....the 6-star, all-suite, invite-only hotel we are building at Resorts World. Had a interesting time catching up with the lads like Edward...and of course Gary and Caroline were there but could not make it too late as I was really exhausted by 10 pm! Man...I think I am seriously getting old! Oh! It also happened to be Anastasia's birthday! Happy BIRTHDAY GIRL! Hope you had a good one!

Tampines Rovers Vs North Queensland Fury

Sasi and the guys at The Red Card had arranged for a friendly match between Tampines Rovers vs the North Queensland Fury down at the Jalan Besar Stadium....and the highlight of the match was supposed to be Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler! As we dropped in just before the match, we missed him at the meet and greet...so ended up playing "guess the soccer superstar" amongst the ang-mo's running around the pitch only to find that he didn't even play! However we had the chance to meet a couple of our local soccer stars from yesterday....Fandi, David Lee....Lim Tong Hai....and of course a couple of the current ones like Amos and Sasi (dont know if you can call him current!!! Hahahaha!). We had to leave before the end of the game which saw the local boys win it 1 - ZIP!!! Serves Fowler right for not turning up for his night out on the town!

It was the start to a soccer based weekend with us being invited to catch the FA Cup with Chelsea beating Everton 2 - 1. International logistics company GAC was one of the broadcast sponsors so they had a dinner going on and of course we were invited. Swung down with Sylvia to catcht he game in my new car and since I could not drink.....she did the drinking for me! Ronnie and his team were great host and a good time was had by all especially getting to meet Vivian Anderson.....one time Manchester United and also Arsenal player! A very good nite out on the town indeed!

On the Road Again!

Yes! Our fine team from Universal Studios Singapore hit the road again to continue with their much publicised Audition Tour. Continuing onwards on our second leg, we now will visit Brisbane, Sydney and then back to Manila, Hong Kong and ending up in Singapore. We have found a truckloads of talents in all the countries that we have visited with a really warm reception from all involved! Of course, this has also led to a few interesting nites out on the town by the team...only thing is that I am not on the tour too! (Which makes someone near and dear very happy indeed!)

FHM Girl Next Door Finale 2009

Yup....back to where it all started....with Zirca hosting the finale party of the much anticipated FHM Girl Next Door competition and it certainly turn out to be a BIG nite out on the town! Nearly everyone was there...Royston and gang, Julynn, Frances, Holman and their posse, Andrea Fonseka, local singer Mark Boniface, one half of the Muttons and the funniest lawyer I know...Suresh.....and of course our host and good friend, David Furhmann Lim. The champagne sure flowed and Sylzz and myself got into good spirits with great company before running off to Butter Factory to catch up with Franck and his posse! One of the top nites out indeed! Cheers!!

Red Bull X Fighters

One of the coolest nites out on the town we have had was courtesy of Red Bull with their showcase of the Red Bull X Fighters! These are a group of professional motorcross bikers that jump their bikes a good 30 plus feet in the air and throw stunts like the Superman Seat Grab! Talk about a awesome sight! Well....it was a good gathering of some of our RWS team with Rosemary, Stephen, Heidi, Matthew all enjoying the show and getting great ideas on getting them to do something similar with us in Resorts World when we open. What a spectacle especially with the Singapore Flyer in the background! And mind you...they did all of this on cement which ment one false flight and.....pancake! But of course...these guys are professionals! Cannot wait to get them back into Singapore soon! Could not stay long as it was the second last game of the Premiership and Arsenal played Manchester United....with United only having to draw the game to become Champions. Well....I suppose you all know the result from my previous blog!

Phil Albritton's Wedding

One of my old friends, James Albritton's eldest son was getting married and of course we were invited. James used to live here in Singapore in the late 90's and we spent many a weekend out on Kallang River waterskiing....out partying and drinking tequila. Phil's son was one of those wayward kids that never went to school, got into endless trouble and was generally a rebel to the point that James nearly sent him off to the Marines!!! Well...looks like Phil turned out well in the end....marrying a girl he kept in touch with when he was still in Singapore and who ended up hooking up with back in the States! It was a little romantic that they chose to marry back in Singapore so the close friends all gathered together for dinner and memories! A good nite out on the town without the booze but with great friends!

Boat Asia '09

Its a Sunday and what I had hoped to be a nice warm afternoon threatened to rain but off I went anyway to Keppel Marina to check out the boats, dive equipment and hang with the boys and their toys. Well...there was more than everyone's fair share of toys to be had from cool cigarette boats straight out of Miami Vice to cabin cruisers for fun in the sun....speed boats and yachts to even toys like helicopters. Vig presented his way cool Can-Am Spyder 3 wheeler which attracted more than its fair share of attention as well as his latest SeaDoo that also goes in reverse! The weather didn't do us any favors that day and the heavens opened up with a drenching making everyone seek shelter. Caught up with Nelson, Chris and the boys while being cheated over a dive bag that they claimed would fit into a airplane overhead compartment....which of course it does not. Not really a nite out on the town but none the less quite a fruitful afternoon with some new dive gear!

Star Trek 2009

Heineken Green Room Sessions

Heineken had one of their famous Green Room Sessions with some strange DJ again at the Pit Building...and of course we were invited to check out the party. Most of the marketing and entertainment team as well as chaps from the F & B and Universal Studios Team came along to have a few cold ones....and a big nite out on the town was in the making! I was quite a good night although it was supprising that we ran out of cold beer fairly early on and they should really get their people to recognize who are VIP's and generally important people much better....Going to make sure that doesn't happen at our events!!! Its been a while since I updated this blog so a few quick entries are in right order..... Well...the first is something real ground breaking for Singapore......Playboy comes to town! Yeah...well...it was kind of like Heff and his bunnies have finally taken up residence in here although wearing alot more clothes with the launch of VIP magazine! My good friends there Dillon and Conrad had arranged for our very hard to come by invites so of course we turned up to enjoy the revelry and what a party was! Royston was there together with Glenn Ong, the publishers of VIP Italy and Serbia became friends as well as Wiwick, the Indo publisher of the Singapore edition (Congrats PAK!!! Good one!!). Was even lucky enough to take pictures with both Playmates of Italy and Serbia!!! WOOO HOOO!!! Not that white chicks float my boat but how often do U get to take a picture with a few playmates with your girlfriend in tow and NOT get into a fight??? Hahahaha! A very big night out on the town indeed!!!

Our First KL Weekend Together

After a 7 hour bus ride, we were both sore and in a reasonablly ill mood for the start of our long weekend in KL and swore we would never take a bus to KL over a long weekend again. We started our party by catching a show by my fav KL comedian Joanne Kum in Velvet Underground KL where we bumped into Eddy, Cher, Roslan and more! I think I supprised Sylzz about the number of people in KL I actually knew! The night ended up very well for us as we walked back to the hotel ready for the next day. Lunch was at Sakura in Jalan Imbi with their usual yummy friend chicken and lovely rendang! We then went up to see Al and Erica with their new baby Ayden! What a bundle of joy he was! Al has sure taken to fatherhood well! Our next stop was dinner with Jamie, Jinnie, Boy, Eddy and Aziz who dropped in later at Bangsar Seafood with their fantastic butter crab! We then headed over to Bangsar and the then famous Telawi Street Bistro for drinks....before heading off to the much talked about Sultan's lounge with Boy, Mark and company! Our last meal there was the kind of famous KL Bak Kut Teh in Imbi again before we caught the bus back....a great two nites out on the town in KL with great food, plenty of drinks and fantastic company!

Girl Next Door 2009

A little bit of a older post here but something I wanted to put down none the less. David had invited us down to Zirca for the launch party of this year's FHM Girl Next Door so after a dinner at Hooters with Royston and gang...off we trooped to a very crowded club. Straight into the VIP section and grabbing a table, we quickly started off with a few bottles of bubbles and good company. Quite a number of the usual suspects turned up including some from overseas! Andrea brought Hans Issac down, Timothy Chan turned up with the ACS team before heading off to play poker and after her class, Sylzz joined to lend support to one of her friends who got in the finals but didn't even turn up for the event. It was quite a nite out on the town by our bunch but I seriously question if I want the girls I saw to really live next door to us! (Thus no pictures of any of the girls! Hahaha!)

To many people turning 18 is something very special.....its reaching a legal point in your life that you can go out and get drunk on a big nite out on the town in most clubs....you can start to learn how to drive....buy cigarettes at a 7 Eleven....but for Manchester United...18 is the magic number of times we have won the Premiership! A rather lackluster performance against Arsenal led to a goal less draw....but that was enough! That one point sealed our win with one of the greatest teams we have ever had! Ronaldo, Rooney, Vidic, Ferdinand, Van Der Sar, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick, Da Silva, Nani, Anderson, Neville, Hargreaves, Evra, Brown, Park as well as our fantasic substitutes...Teves, Berbatov, O'Shea, Macheda, Da Silva, Kuszczak, Campbell, Fletcher,Evans and not to forget the one and only Sir Alex Ferguson! One more game to go but its already done and dusted with 3 cups in the cupboard...and just one more to go...the Champions League against a tough Barcalona. Glory Glory Man United!

One More Point!!!

It was a restless night for me getting home real early with the idea to sleep and wake up to catch the footie. Man U were playing Wigan and a win would put us one point away from the Premiership title....so toss and turned.....put off a nite out on the town with my good friend Victor who flew in from Hong Kong for 2 days....and in the end.....fell asleep only to wake up at 5 am and miss the damn game! Not good indeed...but the results was very satisfactory.....a 2 - 1 win!!! Teves and Carrick scoring in the second half to take us to within ONE POINT of the cup! All thats left is the fight between us and Arsenal this weekend....which should be a great game and that last game against Hull! All we got to do is draw and its ours! Now time to cross fingers indeed!

Oasis in Singapore

Yes...thats right....my next nite out on the town was with Oasis! How cool is that! Well....I suppose my days of running around back stage are well and truly over since all I seem to do now is watch the show from the front! Man....I miss those days of total havoc while under the total lack of sleep! Well.... the Gallagher brothers sure put up a great show with their greatest hits belted out one by one to a full house! I think the Liam is a little weird spending the whole nite in his trench coat with his hands in his pockets.....and I really think Noel has a better voice! Well...should not complain since I got free tickets! Sylzz sure enjoyed herself though...but not as much as the Rod Steward concert...no soccer balls I guess! Hahaha!

Rolls Royce 200EX

And while on the topic of cars, I then move on to the other end of the spectrum! I was invited by Rolls Royce to the preview of their newest model...the 200EX...and was it a special nite out on the town! It was one of the first events at the spanking new Capella hotel which is our neighbour...so of course I was more than keen to attend. Noel and myself were invited for the evening session...and of course I pulled up in my very un-glam taxi while Noel came in his Merc CLS AMG.....oh well.....he is OLDER! The ballroom was very unusually round...and was ushered in with much aplom to chill with various other VIP's. It was a very dignified and exquisite affair with just the right number of people to match the right number of service staff. Very personalized service....excellent nibbles....and loads of free flow of Perrier Jouet! My kind of party indeed! Of course met all the Rolls Royce VIP's like Tom Purves, their CEO as well as various other heavy hitting big wigs who were all very hospitable when I mentioned we were looking at purchasing 6 cars! One of them thought I was joking till he saw my business card....talk about foot in mouth! Much thanks to my local host Valerie who made sure I was well taken care of! Well.....its a little different from my humble Avante...but for more than a million bucks, I expect the damn thing to drive and park itself!!!

Yes.....in addition to my new driving license....I have given myself a big birthday present.....a new car! Went down to the local Hyundai dealer and decided on picking up a new Avante 1.6 Sports. Metalic Sand with a grey interior.....fog lights, front and rear sensors, auto boot release, solar film....audio control steering wheel.....digital climate control......oh yeah! Not something that I would take out on a nite out on the town when I drink but will sure help in the getting around! More updates coming soon! Now all I have to do is to learn how to park without poles!

Yes....we are finally back to winning ways! Our first goal by Ronaldo was expected.....then Villa hit back....and hit us again! But the second goal again from Ronaldo was sublime!!! And just when we thought it would end up a draw.....17 year old Wunderkin Frederico Macheda from Rome curls in one of the most beautiful goals I have seen!!! What a debut for the young man set to be a star in the not too distant future! Italian style with Man U pedigree! Its like combining a Ferrari with......er.....hmmmm..... a Rolls Royce??? Chan Family Gathering

Its the Chan Family Re-Union Dinner and I bet you have never seen so many of us gathered PEACEFULLY in one room! Amazing if you ask me! We had cousins from far and wide....Malaysia, Australia and Japan who came down....and it was real cool to reconnect with parts of my family that I haven't seen in ages! Sylzz was my partner on this special occasion where we celebrated our Peranakan heritage with most of the cousins coming in our traditional batik and the ladies coming in their sarong kebaya's. Totally glam! It was a very nice nite out on the town for me....especially to reconnect with the family that I seem to have drifted away from and also to introduce Sylzz to them. A very good nite out on the town indeed!

HSBC Championship Golf Cocktail

I was very lucky to be invited to the exclusive HSBC Golf cocktail for their Tournament of Champions at the Asian Civilization Museum as guest of the organizer, IMG....and of course it was a blast and a half. Luke from IMG was a more than accomodating host...and after the formalities, we tucked into food from the Hilton Hotel as well as to mix and mingle with some of the golf pros. The only one I recognized was last year's winner and the world ranking No 1, Lorena Ochoa. We hung around and sipped more and more champagne and eventually hooked up with Georgina Chang, Paula Malai Ali, Samir from MBP and friends...and had a really great nite out on the town as we kept telling people that Sam was Amithab Bachan's son! Riaz Metha also dropped in for a while as we kept things rocking down at Timbre for a nightcap with our merry band.

ACS Class of 1986 Gathering

Its been more than 20 years since I got together with some of these guys...and the wonders of Facebook has brought together my schoolmates from the Anglo Chinese Secondary School class of 1986. 1986 is a landmark year for the school as it marks its centenary year and we are all really proud to have been part of this historic occasion. Well....thanks to Timothy Chan and Christopher Ng, about 12 of us gathereed together at Polar Cafe at Toa Payoh Hub to celebrate our Founders Day on 1 March 2009....and it was a real blast to see the boys together again. Most of us have not changed much in these years, apart from putting on some weight, losing some hair and now having wives and kids to go home to. A great nite out on the town indeed...and as our school motto says it so well...."The Best Is Yet To Be".

Rod Stewart, LIVE in Singapore

Yes....Rod Stewart makes his second visit to Singapore and Michael had invited Sylzz and me to catch the show. Talk about fantastic seats, we were right near the stage and had nearly a unobstructed view except for some inconsiderate soccer mom's posterior who rushed straight to the rail and kept shaking her very ample booty! EEEeeuck! Talk about the ugly American! As expected, it was a night of ALL his greatest hits...one after the other..and even his daughter got into the act! Maggie May, Have I Told You Lately, Young Turks, Tonight I'm Yours.....hit after hit! As the concert went on, Rod started kicking soccer balls out into the crowd....and somehow, Sylzz caught his eye and threw one stright to her! A self autographed Rod Stewart soccer ball! Sylzz could barely believe her luck and the look on her face was something I will always remember. There was also a interval with a cocktail session where we caught up with Rona, Anne and friends.....and quickly after that, the show continued! We ended a great night out on the town with cocktails at the Axis Bar in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel with more champagne and....a big thanks to Midas, Michael and his team.

Bang and Olufsen was launching a brand new product, a pioneering concept in home intertainment...their BeoSound 5 and had invited Rosemary, Stephan and myself over to check out the system as well as to a mini-concert by one of their ambassadors. The event was down at the Singapore Flyer so off we went on a Monday night out on the town. Well...after a few champagnes's and wine, the fantastic gizmo was unveiled and what a system it was! Very cool indeed! Well....we all had a good nite out on the town thanks to Jonas Muller, our host. Cheers to B n O! Bring...it ON!

Our 1st Anniversary

Its our first anniversary, and off we went to Phuket and Ko Phi Phi for a little holiday. We stayed at Michael's fantastic place with the Rona, Francis, Andrea and Isabella while Micheal was in Singapore doing Fall Out Boy. What a place he has indeed! Very cool! Sylzz described it as better than any 5 star hotel and I tend to agree! Only down side was she was constantly harrased by their cute dog, Sam...but at least he has good taste in women! We spent a night in Ko Phi Phi...where we had a great time on the beach and I even got in 2 fantastic dives where I saw sea snakes and sea turtles! Miss the sharks though...damn it! Michael got back and we spent a great nite out on the town by the beach having a incredible dinner with great company. We also managed to check out the super crowded Patong beach (lucky thats NOT where we stayed) and did a little bit of shopping. More a restful time for us to chill and just be together. A big thanks to the hospitality of the Hosking family....and we still miss the kids! Er....hmm...ominous ringing indeed!

My First Chinses Concert

Leslie Ong was kind enough to invite Andrea and myself plus guest to check out their sold out Wakin in Concert show at SIS, and so...off I went to my first Chinese concert! Wakin otherwise known as Emil Chou is one of those old school balladeers that just sings and sings. He had a impressive stage which depicted a rooftop...and a even more fantastic LED wall. Talk about singing...he just sung and sung and sung...and after two hours of sitting and not understanding a thing, I had just had enought and convinced Sylzz to call it a night and head on off somewhere else. Can you imagine, he went on for ANOTHER two hours...making it nearly a 4 hour concert! Talk about worth your money...now I know why local concert goers moan about a 80 minute show by western stars! Well....after that, we went down to check out Overeasy which was pretty quiet....but a quick telephone call by Sylzz to her friends, and off we went to Clarke Quay to Le Noir. Not my typical nite out on the town but it was well worth the experience to see the show and of course, the great company!

Matt's House Warming

My colleague Matthew Twist had finally moved into his new house and was throwing a house warming party for the team and his friends. I was happy to help out with the logistics to get the chicken wings and satay at Newton while he set up the party...and talk about alot of booze! His friends started flowing in at 8-ish...and the party really got warmed up very quickly. Most of our department turned up, except Andrea who was busy that evening....Wendi, Rachel, Skip and Jean....and some strange Scottsman in a kilt...as well as assorted other party animals! We then skipped off to Zouk though we were all pretty sloshed by then....but a great nite out on the town with new friends and colleagues!

Chelsea Vs Man U! A big nite out on the town indeed! The lads were ready to go for it and show Chelsea who was boss...and of course we were all cheering behind them to go for the win! Ivan had invited Sylzz as part of the ABU vs NBU challenge down to the Man U Cafe and Bar in Boat Quay on a warm Sunday night and we were happy to turn up to support my team! Its unfortunate that Sylzz is a Arsenal fan...but oh well.....the Gooners are the second team I support anyway. The atmosphere was totally electric...the beer flowed...the chicken wings were fantastic...and the sweet wonderful end.....a Manchester United WIN? Nay...an Manchester United trouncing of Chelsea....3 - ZERO!!!!! Yup! The Blues were left black and blue and bruised and battered! Glory Glory Man United indeed! Oh...a big thank you to Sara Ann K and Razor TV who aired the clip of me slagging off Chelsea....er...."Stroke...Stoke???".....my 2 minutes of fame!

Volvo Ocean Race

One of the greatest ocean races had made Singapore one of its stops and One15 Marina was one of the sponsors of the race. My friend, Arthur Tay, chairman of the marina had invited me over for the in-port leg of the race so of course I had to head over! Man! It was a hot hot day over at One15 at 10 am in the morning. The jet ski squadron with Galen, Royston, Vig and the rest of the boys were going to set on out together with most of the other yachts there, including Arthur's super yacht, Hy Seas II. We hug out on the pontoon of the marina where Edward had kindly invited Sylzz and me to join him on his brand new Riva 56! Wow....now that was a treat! The Riva was probablly the most expensive yacht in the marina and off we went to chase the tall sail and cool ships! There must have been 50 or more boats out that day....and a great time was had by all! Thanks to Edward and the Hong Seh team! A great day out on the sea instead of nite out on the town!

Its New Year's Eve...and Franck had invited us for dinner at Grand Shanghai Restaurant before heading to Velvet to see in 2009. The food was very good with the old Chinese songs being sung live in the background. Albert, Chua...all the boys were there and a great time was had by all. Just at about 11 pm, we headed over to Velvet to ring in the New Year...and of course the champagne popped...the crowd cheered...hugs and kisses were exchanged by friends and strangers....and next thing you know, its 2009! Another year rolls around but it looks like a big slow down for my nites out on the town!

Yup!!! Indeed! We have done it...another piece of silverware goes onto the shelf after a very loooong game against Tottenham Hotspur. It was nil - nil at full time.....which continued to extra time.....and somehow, I knew when it came to the penalty shootout....Ben Foster would be DA MAN! Not only did he make a fantastic save from Jamie O'Hara's spot kick....David Bentley had to miss one totally! The end score....4 - 1! Had a great nite out on the town watching the game with Stuart Watson, David Rich and Phil Stanley down at Harry's on Robertson Quay......and now we concentrate on the Premiership...but with Liverpool's humiliating 2 - 0 loss to Middlesbrough, only Chelsea have a chance in catching us but..a little too late me thinks! Now lets get Newcastle on Wednesday! (Why do they always make these games at 3 am???? Don't they care about us Asian fans??? SIGH!!!) Now...after a good day at work (and a Red Bull in the afternoon to keep me going...time for bed!

Now this is a seriously hot car...the front grill with the LED running lights is way cool...and the interior is something really special. It way appeals to me over the current BMW's.....it is just....cool! Well....it was a great night out on the town with Noel and making new friends from Audi, Angela Wong and their CEO, Dr Reinholt Carl. One of the biggest nites out on the town every year is ZoukOut and this year was no exception. Dinner with Franck and the boys at Barnacles proved to be totally sinful and HUGE! Lobster, crabs, prawns and loads of oysters together with a load of Franck's beauties! A totally outstanding party in every respect! After having our fill....off we went to the Velvet tent where we caught up with even more friends. Royston and company, Lincoln...and my good old friend and fav DJ in the world, Dimitri from Paris! This year more than 20 000 people filled the beach and we happily had our swigs at a absurd amount of Black Label, champagne and more.....Sylzz had her girls in full action to and as expected....we partied till dawn....and waiting for one and a half hours for a cab! I promise...next year....I am gonna get myself a car!!! Oh....it took us hours to get the sand out of our hair and bed...and nearly a week for me to get it out of my shoes!

Hong Seh 40th Anniversary at The Pit Building

What can you say.....when a company like Hong Seh wants to throw a celebration, they sure know how to make a statement....be it in the day or a nite out on the town! To celebrate their 40th anniversary, they had decided to have a grand dinner for their customers followed by a showcase of their collection of cars....and what a collection it is! More than 20 Ferrari's including the mythical Enzo, the F40, F50, F360, F430, Scuderia, Dino, the 612, Maserati's some rare BMW's....the MV Agusta Superbike, Riva Yachts...and his new line of cool cars! Enough hardware to make a car colletor weep with joy!!! Some of the most rare, exotic....unseen EVER Ferrari's ever were on show! Something totally awesome! It brought such a thrill to the motorheads in Singapore....they came out in droves to support the charity that it was held in favor of! I could barely cotain my excitement when I headed down with Stuart and Alison...and with my trusty Alpha...got off more than a few great shots! Talk about giving me inspiration to get my driving license!!! Indeed! Just gotta-do-it!!

Been a while since I got inspired to blog....and been wanting to put up some pictures of my trip to Shanghai. Went up there with my sales team for Greater China for the CITM trade show. I was very excited to head up to Shanghai....always wanted to go and finally got the chance. Spent the time with a great team from RWS...and had a outstanding support team from our offices in China. Weather was good when we got in for the first few days but only tured crappy right at the end. It was certainly a fully packed schedule with meetings, auditions, training sessions, press conferences and then the exhibition.....and then the load out...well...there was just about enough time to check out the lights and scenes of Shanghai nitelife but no to party. Just walking the streets and taking pictures.....trying the food....checking out the shops....well....it was just a awesome trip! Not really that big a nite out on "Shanghai" town...but it sure was a fantastic time! Here comes the montage with more to come....

Its that time of the year again that lets people go dress in virtually anything to club..yes...its Halloween! This year the party was at Thumper and after I got in my genuine China Security Guard outfit.... we headed down to check out the party. It sure was a excellent nite out on the town with the support of the party bus thanks to our good friend Clifford and Bosco! The costumes were quite wild and the crowd was really up for a good time. Seen in the crowd were a couple of Jokers, 2 Super Mario's (one with a real mustach)...a tube of toothpaste, ice cream, a sucide bomber...Elvis, some strange sailor girls, angels, demons and a few witches and gouls! Douglas from my office turned up, together with Satia, Eric Chan, Sum Yee and Pat, Nicholas Lee, Jonty and friends....and probablly more friends though I could not for the life of me recognize anyone!

Boon's 40th Birthday

Well...Its my friend Ah-Boon's turn to finally turn the big 40 and we decided to celebrate with dinner at Long Beach @ Dempsey! Time to dig into some serious prawn, crab and all the good stuff! Panasonic Kranji Mile 2008

For the second year, I was happily invited to the Panasonic Kranji Mile as guest of Panasonic. This is the 3rd biggest prize in Singapore horse racing and as guest of the main sponsor, naturally we were up in the sponsors box! Way Cool! (And cooling!) Supprisingly THT had also accepted the invite together with Angela and Bobby See so had to be good that day. Sylzz and me mad sure to be there right on time in our Sunday finest and so we were ready for a day at the races! We really had a great time putting small bets on the races and cheering them on. Made a little bit of money but nothing compared to Uncle Desmond who made quite a killing! Lucky bugger! Big thanks to Chan-San....Leonard and Marcus.....not quite a nite out on the town but was quite a cool way to spend the day!

Dan's Farewell

Heading over to Bar None, we were really looking forward to catching up with my good friend Daniel Teo. We have both known each other since his days in the cosmetics biz and my first concert, Lisa Stansfield! Well...we lost touch...connected again...lost again...reconnected...and now as he moves from APB Singapore and our main contact for putting the deal with Tiger Beer and us at RWS....and then he gets promoted and moved over to Shangahi! The NEW BMW 7 Series

My next little party was with Noel down at the Performance Centre. We had been invited to drop in for a private preview of the BMW 7 Series in their new showroom so I quickly headed over to check it out. Got to keep the inspiration for my driving license I suppose. Well...to be honest, I was not totally impressed. It is suppose to be a whole generation ahead of the current one....it looks quite similar to the old one. I suppose I expected quite alot more! The rest of the Performance Centre was quite amazing though. Finally got up and personal to the new X6....the outstanding 6 Series.....and a couple of glasses of champagne and wine! Funny that we left there for our next little function in Noel's new Merc CLS 350 AMG! Hahahaha! BWM must have been kicking themselves! Well...next step down to Balaclava for Daniel's farewell! Onwards with my nite out on the town I suppose....

Pure Attitude @ The Scarlett

Organized by my old friend Paul Fong and the Singapore Waterskiing and Wakeboarding Federation, it featured some of the top riders from the world throwing monster tricks on the water....on the rails and even on dry land! A cool little feature was the wake pools that they set up where you can actually wakeboard on dry land! COWABUNGA! Just be careful you fall into the pools and not outside!

It was a double birthday with Carol and Andrew both throwing their party together at Bellini Grande, one of the most interesting and unusual nitespots in Clarke Quay. It features the Bellini Grande Pop Orchestra which is excellent, a interesting and intimate booth style seating and great mature company. Of course present were good friends like Edward and Anastasia, Gary and of course Sylvia. We had loads of Verve Cliquot Rose...a great laugh when Carol was brought onto stage to do a little dance and a great nite out on the town! Happy Birthday Guys (and Dolls)!!!

New Paper New Face 2008

Was invited again this year to The New Paper New Face 2008 at Civic Plaza at Ngee Ann City so headed down after work to check it out. Was not planning a real big nite out on the town but was pretty keen to check out the show again which was produced by Daniel Boey and presented by Subaru. There was quite a interesting bunch of contestants and was pretty supprised with the winner, Shahira Price who was one of the shorter girls in the competition...but had quite a cute face. I had my own fav...a cute short haired girl with quite a interesting attitude called Geraldine Chua who had the only short spikey hair cut...and another interesting girl who won Miss Vivacious, Sara Chen who were both Sylvia's and my fav! Well...perhaps I will give it a miss next year and try to snag them to do it with us in Resorts World in 2010!

Its RACE Day!

Yup...finally got some time to put up my race day entry. It was sure a hectic day with the London Fog's performance venue changing at the last minute to the F1 Village and with the shuffle of equipment and logistics but we managed to do everything in good time and as the band got to the track in plenty of time to set up and sound check. As the sound check went on well, I had to head over to the paddock to meet my guest Mark Burnett, Scot Cru and Man Shu Sum from Mark Burnett Productions Asia and give them a quick tour as well as do the pit walk. After that, we settled down to some champagne and good company catching up with Boss and meeting a few really interesting people in the Cuscaden Paddock. We also caught Miss Universe and Miss Universe Singapore there for some snaps....and as the paddock filled up, the mood sure reved up a few notches! Caught a few friends such as my cousin Kelvin and his bosses, Franck Brown, Michael Hosking, prominent international flutist Andreas, Noel and Nancy Hawkes, TJ Tay and his wife, Alice Oei, Jen Ong, Giorgio Ferrari, Rajiv Bhalla and friends....and also caught up with Franck and Edward in the Ferrari Paddock. Was totally disappointed with the Ferrari fiasco with the fuel line and Kimmi wiping out just at the end...and supprise supprise with the win by Alonso! Well...things got even more hectic at the end with the packing out of the band's gear. In the shuffle of venue's, the organizers kind of forgot on how to get the equipment and band out of the venue! A few stressful moments as well as a very sweet one of me waving to Sylvia who was on the track from the paddock. So near and yet so far! Well...it was off to work to sort out all the gear and then off to Amber Lounge to continue one of the best nights out on the town this year!

London Fog at The Esplanade for the F1

Yes...thats right, my boys, the London Fog were invited to play during the F1 and our first gig was at the open stage at the Esplanade. Loading up from Hard Rock...we headed over to the gate near the Fullerton Hotel where our gear was buggied all the way to the Esplanade. Quite a job indeed! The boys performed quite well and drew quite a crowd though there were various technical glitches. Well....the night out on the town isn't quite over yet cause after this...is the F1 practice and qualifying! Its going to be a huge crowd and we are all totally excited about it. Michael finally got in...as well as Sylvia a little later....then....as expected...I had to run off and work to take care of my Chairman and my CEO. Probablly one of the most scary and strange moments was walking into the Williams RBS Paddock...wearing my red Ferrari T-Shirt! A spot of red in a sea of blue! Well...happy to say that Massa took pole on this one....But the track looked outstanding in the floodlights...and we all left really excited with the prospect of a Ferrari win on Race Day! Oh! And if you think the race pictures look great....I do have to say that it sure wasn't me behind the camera....its all thanks to my super special camera woman...darling Sylvia!

Mercedes Benz Stylo Party then Chivas @ RVP

Yes...its finally here....what was supposed to be "THE" party of the Grand Prix season...the Mercedes Benz STYLO party at their HQ. Was supposed to be black tie so rushed home to get into my tux and meet Sylvia who looked totally beautiful in her white dress. Booked a Mercedes taxi (cannot imagine going there in a Hyundai can I) and then walked the red carpet. Bumped into Alice there....Dr Reiner Thiel...and of course Noel and Angela turned up as well as catching Daniel Teo and Bennett. It was quite a nite out on the town with loads of champagne flowing and nearly every glam rich, powerful and influential of Singapore society in tow. Caught Ridzman Baig as well as loads of other good friends...so many that I forgot to take more pictures! Well...the nite out on the town was not over yet...and dressed in our finest...we went down to the Chivas party at one of the most unusual locations in town...the old River Valley Pool! They had spruced up the grounds...installed a huge sound system...and invited everyone and their brother and sister and cousin! It was totally massive! We squeezed into the VIP area and found a great spot next to the cooling system....and ended up hosting friends from Channel News Asia including my good friend Bhagman together with the team from Pernod Ricard together with Raymond. Really tried not to get too smashed as we had a long day the next day...but I dare say..another outstanding party by Chivas.

Singapore F1 GP Practice

Finally....the day had dawned! It was the first official day of the Singtel Singapore F1 Grand Prix! We were being hosted by the great guys from BAT up at the Honda Paddock and so we all gathered at the St Regis at 1 pm. I had even worn my vintage BAT 2003 polo shirt that Wowed everyone. Big thanks to Wayne and his team there! Rosemary from Market Development and Chan from Casino Ops were with me as we headed to the track. We got to do the pit walk.and took my fill of pictures at the Ferrari Pit (though it was closed....got to check out the track....and I even somehow wondered back down to the back of the pits! Nick Fry came up to have a chat as well as Alexander Wurtz, their test driver. The atmosphere was just sheer electric an one could tell that this was going to be a super weekend! Couldn't stay for the actual practice cause had to run off to change to my tux for the big nite out on the town at the Mercedes STYLO party. Stay tuned!!!

Red Bull @ Cafe Del Mar

One of the best parties of the whole season was the Red Bull party at Cafe Del Mar. The invites were way cool and the set up was totally happening! Loads of party people, a huge stage....and free flow of Vodka Red Bulls...and other mixed Red Bull drinks! Must say a big congrats to the Red Bull people and especially Daryll Lim, their brand manager for throwing this one. The music was really quite excellent...loads of food and great company! Met Feliza there, Bosco, Juliana, Paul Fong, Amos Boon who brough Michael with him as well as Sasi...Yvonne Pho, Janice Gan....Rachael Ling....and even some of our local football team! Both Torro Rosso and Team Red Bull turned up with Vettel, Bourdais, David Coulthart and Mark Webber swung in for a quick peek....but the highlight of this nite on the town for me was that they actually had fireworks! Talk about outstanding!!! Well...lets see what the other teams can come up with to top this!

Ferrari Club F1 Drive

The turn out was quite spectacular at Dempsey Road...more than 30 cars came for the drive that took us down Orchard Road, over to the CTE, up to the PIE then up to the new KPE tunnel...over to Changi Airport and then down the ECP straight to St James and Movida! Victor Ow was one of the main organizer while I caught a lift with Royston. We all had quite a fantastic parade down Orchard Road and got more than a few stares...how often do U hear more than 30 super cars rolling in formation down there???? It was quite a scramble on the expressways but we all managed to reconnect at Changi Airport...much to the supprise of the airport police for sure! Then we all drove in reasonable convoy down to St James. What a sight in the front carpark...full of Ferraris and Maserati's! Pop when the champagne....and after some light snacks...I ran off to the next part of my nite out on the town....

Mumms was hosting a fantastic exhibition at The Cathay by renown F1 photographer Bernard Cahier and his son, Paul-Henri. I mean..these guys have been around the F1 for ages and have captured scenes that are totally fantastic. My good friend Alvin Koh was one of the events producers and happily caught Nora Tan, my mates from Pernod Ricard, Alex Tang and the Mumm's girls especially Karen Tok who I haven't seen since she left us at Thumper. Well...could not do too much bubbles cause I was heading off to the Ferrari Club drive after that to continue my big nite out on the town...but till then...CHEERS!

Poltrona Frau and Ferrari

Poltrona Frau is one of the most premium supplier of leather for furniture and earlier in the year, they had secured the tender to supply us with the seats to our show room so of course I was invited to head on town to their showroom when the Ferrari drivers Raikkonen and Massa came to visit. Yes...Frau have been supplying the leather to the seats for Ferrari for quite a while now and were excited to show off their latest collection. Well...the invites said 6 pm but heard it through the grape vine that the drivers were coming at 4 pm so off I was to check it out before a big nite out on the town. Reached there just in time to catch them walking out of the showroom....and was way too supprised to get them to autograph my shirt or even get off any pictures. Well...looks like thats as close as I was going to get! Well, Michael was with me and of course caught my DPA team, Derek Kwok and his wife Catherine, Pascal and her girls.....and was quite funny that as usual, all the high brow locals turned up fashionablly late...only to find that they had left! Looks like the drivers are real fast then! Hahaha!

BMW @ Velvet

After the Hublot party...it was time to continue in the F1 mood and head down to the BMW party at Velvet. Met Soren and Hugh there while it was still quite empty but it very quickly filled up and very soon the club was buzzing. The VIP area was reserved for the Sauber BMW team and wondering over there, met up with Jade and Randall from the Hublot party as well as Rose who had her own table with a her usual bunch of girls. Have always had a soft spot for the Sauber team...and am really happy that they are doing so well. Too bad didn't catch Robert Kubica but did see Dr Mario Thiessen, the team principal. Caught Jo Wee chatting up someone that everyone seem to want to take pictures with...so presume he was a driver too. However, was fortunate to be introduced to Christian Klein, the 3rd driver with the team and happily helped myself to more Moet. Ah!!! What a night out on the town...time to keep a little sober for the next round of parties...tomorrow is time for the Ferrari Club drive and Red Bull at Cafe Del Mar!

The next party I headed to the night after was the opening of Aqua down near Riverside Walk. Met Rosemary at Brewerkz for a long overdue dinner owed to me and then off we went to the funky bar made from containers. However....as usual with all openings, small bar, large crowd, free booze....and that made for a very dry start to a nite out on the town...so we decided to head off to the Hublot party by Hour Glass over at SupperClub. Was quite interesting with a whole bunch of familiar faces....Caroline, Anastasia and a Nora Tan....even Bobby turned up! Caught Randall and Jade there as well....and again...packed club...small bar....and no more Moet made us all head over to the BMW party in Velvet to round off a good nite out on the town!

Richard Mille Party

Well...its the start of my massive F1 leave project and here I go to the first of the many funtions this week. Richard Mille is one of the finest watches on the market with really cool designs...and all in very limited numbers. Its one of the finest examples of the complications of watch making and are worn by some of the most discerning. Not many can get their hands on one....and most are dying to! Brought in by my friend Dave Tan, its one cool piece of wrist wear and when they also sponsor Fillipe Massa, you can imagine all the boys would turn up. The party was at MoS and also in the house was Jackie Chan (you can see the back of his head in my pic! Hahahaha!) as well as loads the rich and famous in town. The carpark was overflowing with Lambo's and Ferrari's....and couple with the free flowing bubbles....you can imagine the "cool" factor of the event was very high indeed. Caught Michael there as well as Andrea Fonseca and of course Sharon Tang......the start of my big week of nites on the town! CHEERS!

Timbre @ The Arts House Anniversary and Music Festival

Yes....Timbre @ The Arts House is still going very strong and has actually expanded! As part of our anniversary, we had been commissioned by STB to organize a music festival as part of the pre-F1 celebrations...and of course the boys happily put together a showcase of some of the best local talent. Of course I headed on down to support the event...and caught quite a number familiar faces such as my partner Howard Kim, and Prakash Mulani, Karen, Edward and Danny. Caught there were old friends like Sunder and Henry Ang, one of the hottest local bands, Jive Talking who did a fantastic set for us as well as a bunch of other regulars. A very successful nite out on the town and big cheers to Timbre and the team! Now.....lets just hope we made some money! Hahahaha!

Avril Lavigne @ SIS

Midas was holding Avril for the second time and of course I had invites from Michael to come to the show. It was more like her greatest hits concert with loads of familiar songs (most of which I didn't even realize was sung by her) and the crowd really ate it up. Loads of die hard young girl fans and even quite a large contingent of guys! She was quite a different artiste from her first concert her....no Fx$K words....no cursing and swearing....just loads of up beat music. A hard rocker chick with a little bit of pink cutesy thrown in for good measure. Trying to catch transport back really sucked..had to take a bus and then find a cab...but it all turned out to be a good nite out on the town!

Mercedes Benz CLC Launch

Watson and the great people at Cycle and Carriage had invited me to the launch of their new CLC class and of course, as I am soon to take my driving test and will be in the market for a car, I was curious to check it out. It sure looked quite cool...and 2 + 2 sporty little number that did perk my fancy and something I will be sure to check out when I pass. I dropped in with Michael who was in town and met Noel and some of our other team there. Caught Yuki, Dr Theil and had a great nite out on the town with great company!

The great people from Pernod Ricard was hosting their series of Mumm's events and of course I was invited. This time it was at Loof and I had invited a whole bunch of people including Sylvia's boss, her sister...and anyone else that was free. Loof isn't like the coolest club around and very quickly we were perspiring buckets but it was sure cooled down with loads of Mumm's! Bosco turned up together with Rizvan, Richard and Janice, Michiko and of course the Mumm's girls! Even Yuki turned up and so we headed over to Thumper to continue the nite out on the town with a few more bottles of fizz and great company. Big up's to Eng, Alex and the rest of the PR team!

BBQ Nite out at Noel's

Whoops...another little post that I forgot....was invited by Noel Hawkes to his place for a little BBQ and to chill out befor National Day. Most of my colleagues from RWS turned up but the one kid that stole the show was Andrew Goh's adoreable son! Amongst the people there was Patrick Fiat, Seah Ee Boon from HR, Douglas Trueblood from USS, Patricia Lee from Hotels and a whole bunch of other people from the office. Even big boss turned up for a while! Some great wine...great company...and a good easy nite out on the town with the team and my special someone.

SupperClub Opening

Missed this little party....well..after work...off I went to check it out. Supperclub is a sister of the famous one in Amsterdam opened by my friend here Orhan Koc. Supperclub is down at Odeon Towers. Its a exact replica of the one there it seems...and all the Uber Cool people had decended on it. Quintessentially had sent invites to all of the members so of course I joined in to check out the new boy on the block. Most of the usual suspects turned up including Rose, Caroline, Anastasia and even Patrick Grove, David Furhman Lim and Amanda, Riaz Metha, Giorgio Ferrari and Peter Martin. Daniel from APB was there as well as Ross Knudson from LAMC...so ended up with a few more beers! Crashed into my friends James and Richard from KL who married Tunku Myra and off we went to show off Thumper when the party was winding down. All in all...a good nite out on the town!

Skipping around the Clubs with Skip!

Our new entertainment consultant from Universal was in town and I was tasked to take him around. After the Festival of Fire, we headed for a look at St James, then down to Clarke Quay and Ministry of Sound..and finally over to Zouk. Well....I think he got the picture! Zouk proved to be the highlight of the night and we bumped into the team from Moet Hennessey Diageo. Joined in the party with their new marketing manager for champagne, Irene Kong who happened to be a old friend from my days in KL and together with Danny Yong, Gordon, Milton and the gang, had quite a few glasses of bubbles much to the impress of Skip! Sara was a great sport and we all had a smashing good time till pretty early in the morning cause of his early flight. Heard he slept like a baby on board the flight back to LA....as expected! Another nite out on the town done and dusted...and my official duties..OVER!

Festival of Fire

Had our Entertainment Consultant Skip Sherman in town who wanted to see our little Festival of Fire so off we went to check it out at the Floating Stage on Marina Bay. Well...after the fireworks in Beijing, we...you can imagine it was somewhat of a anti-climax. Was very puzzled why the music was all FRENCH??? Turned out that it was a team from France blowing off smokes! Guys...take a note from the Chinese who invented the stuff.....follow the beat and make sure the timing sticks! Well, even Skip was not too impress...but judging by the OOOhs and Ahhh!....some of the crowd was. We gonna really show them something when Universal Studios Singapore opens! I was really missing my new Sony Alpha but was due to do a club tour with him so didn't really want to haul it all around. The start of a interesting nite out on the town! BOOM!

My Olympic Memories!

Yes....just a few more grand Olympic memories about Beijing. It really quite a incredible place....old...yet new...grand and opluent yet traditional and intimate. You can feel the history in the air in many places. The one thing I kept saying to myself....they certainly dont make things small in China. Its just a truly oddly scary yet incredible place to visit. As you can imagine, lots of possiblities for big nites out on the town but this trip was all about sports....and Budweiser!!! BURP!

Thats right...I was there! Indeed! The Beijing Olympics 2008! As guest of Budewiser! What a fantastic experience! Big thanks to Bobby and the guys from LHA here. Caught the Argentina vs Brazil soccer game where Brazil lost....caught the table tennis where Feng Tianwei won...and the diving at the Water Cube. Such fantastic memories indeed and too many pics to post. The food may have been way to salty and oily but the beer was good and the company was fantastic. Great nites out on the town in Beijing! A huge 2 nite party over at Fort Canning (oh and a one nite pre party at Arena in Clarke Quay).....everyone from Rick Astley to the Pussy Cat Dolls...Jason Mraz to Alicia Keys.....a totally fantastic weekend with totally awesome music. SINGfest seems to keep growing and growing to be Asia's premier music festival! One of the best nites out on the town this year...and all I can do is to put it in pictures!

Thumpers 4th Anniversary

Yes...Thumper turns 4!!! And boy has it been a party! There has been many up's and down's...loads of great parties and memories...and also many moments of frustration and concern. All was put aside that night when everyone turned up to celebrate the evening. All the shareholders turned up.....as well as all the friends, fans and supporters from far and wide. Bernard Wong, Jeff Goh, Daniel Ou, Piak Choo, Monica Alsagoff and her team...Royston, Eng and the Pernod Ricard team, Daniel Teo and the APB team, Andrea Foneska and her new beau...and loads of others. Maserati Quattroporte S Launch Party

As one of the hottest 4 door cars on the road, the Maserati Quattroporte is just outstanding. Total luxury coupled with comfort, style and what power! Well...as you can imagine all the boys turned up at Suburbia. A very interesting venue indeed but the food was not that remarkable. My hot date for the nite was none other that my good friend Stuart Neish...and as we rolled in our humble taxi, all the Ferrari's were growling in style. What a sight indeed! All the boys were there....Edward and his dad Alfred, Royston, Franck, Peter, Giorgio, Adrian, David and Chunn, Anastasia and the Quintessentially team and loads of champagne! A totally outstanding nite out on the town indeed!

Peter's Wedding

Old time colleague, some times rival, some time pain in the ass but generally well respected production manager, Peter Loh finally decided to tie the knot at The Legends up on Fort Canning and nearly all of the top technical production people in Singapore was in attendance. Jive Talking entertained and as expected, there was quite a impressive stage set up. Well..it was all very interestig with a table full of promoters, Michael Roache from Lushington, Michael Hosking, Mel Tyler and Andy Yavasis from Midas...as well as a whole slew of other familiar faces. Well...turned out to be a big nite out on the town for Peter with the booze flowing freely and the little scuffle at the end! Hahahaha! Congrats Peter.....now my fear is when you start having kids!

A Red Carpet Shoe Affair...

My good friend Tricia and her sister Dionne had opened their very own special shoe boutique with a little bar in place where you can sip bubbly and lychee martini's as your pick your fav stilettos. Interesting indeed! Its up on Ann Siang Hill where all the ad agency girls are. Anyway...quite a nice place but not quite my kind of party with a frenzy of women shopping for shoes...so sent my congrats and made a quick exit. Not quite a nite out on the town....

Spanish Nites @ The Merc Showroom

There was a very special band from Spain flown in especially for the event....great wine from Giorgio Ferrari and good company. Watson, Eric...Billy Yeong....and even my old friend George from SPH was all in appearance. Quite a interesting nite out on the town indeed!
